  • Publication number: 20020041407
Abstract: An apparatus for simultaneously reading images on both sides of the document sheet as the sheet having images on both sides is moved through the apparatus, one side read by a CCD sensor and the other side read by a contacted image sensor. An image synthesizing unit synthesizes image data from the CCD sensor and image data from the contacted image within one cycle of main scanning by the two image reading units. Furthermore, image processing circuits in the subsequent steps perform specific modes of processing on the data within one cycle of main scanning. That permits simultaneous reading of both sides of the sheet document without reducing document reading speed and expansion of the image processing unit.

  • Patent number: 6052377
Abstract: A down-link frame generating/transferring portion 12 detects a free channel from among a plurality of previously assigned up-link channels. The down-link frame generating/transferring portion 12 selects a secondary station 2 to which the free channel is to be assigned by referring to an address table 11 every time it detects a free channel. Then the down-link frame generating/transferring portion 12 sends out onto a down-link channel a down-link frame in which the secondary station address of the selected secondary station is set in an address slot corresponding to the free channel.

  • Patent number: 5770921
Abstract: The first object of the present invention is to provide a PDP with improved panel brightness which is achieved by improving the efficiency in conversion from discharge energy to visible rays. The second object of the present invention is to provide a PDP with improved panel life which is achieved by improving the protecting layer protecting the dielectrics glass layer. To achieve the first object, the present invention sets the amount of xenon in the discharge gas to the range of 10% by volume to less than 100% by volume, and sets the charging pressure for the discharge gas to the range of 500 to 760Torr which is higher than conventional charging pressures. With such construction, the panel brightness increases. Also, to achieve the second object, the present invention has, on the surface of the dielectrics glass layer, a protecting layer consisting of an alkaline earth oxide with (100)-face or (110)-face orientation.

  • Patent number: 5140417
Abstract: A transmission system for packaging and transmission digital video data divides the data into a first group of components which would cause image quality to be drastically damaged if discarded, and a second group of components which would cause little damage if discarded. Data cells are composed for each group of components, and a priorty level is assigned giving a high priority to the first group of components and a low priority to the second group of components. The data is sent and received, and the received data is classified in accordance with the priority levels. If it is necessary to discard low priority components, a compensating device compensates for the discarded cells to ensure a constant image transmission across a congested channel.

  • Patent number: 4525609
Abstract: A time switch driven by an electric clock motor is disclosed. The time switch has a base plate above which a time dial with on and off-trippers are rotatably mounted. Disposed below the base plate are other components including input and output terminals, switch means electrically connected between the terminals, switch activating means for closing and opening the switch means in accordance with the positions of the on- and off-trippers on the rotating time dial, and gear train leading from a rotor of the motor to the time dial. The motor comprises the rotor which is a bipolarized permanent magnet and an electromagnet in the form of a ring interrupted by a gap in which the rotor is located. In the base plate there is formed a generally annular groove for receiving the electromagnet, such that the electromagnet, a constituent of the motor, is received within the thickness of the base plate to reduce the depth required for the motor disposed below the plate.
