  • Patent number: 4310907
Abstract: A scan converter is disclosed for use in a sector scan type ultrasound imaging system in which ultrasound echo signals return from targets along a plurality of radial scan lines distributed in a sector field with a substantially equal tangential angular increment with respect to a reference line. The scan converter comprises a sampling circuit which samples the echo signals at a speed inversely proportional to the cosine of the angle of deflection of the radial scan lines with respect to the reference line so that the sampled points align themselves in lateral lines perpendicular to the reference line. The sampled echo signals are converted into digital echo data and stored in a random access memory in the direction of its columns. The stored data are retrieved serially in the direction of the rows and fed into an interpolator for making interpolations between the successively retrieved echo data.

  • Patent number: 4287768
Abstract: Beam deflection delay time data of (L.times.M) data bits are stored in a read-only memory from which each datum is retrieved successively when the ultrasound beam is deflected to a given angle and repeatedly accumulated in a digital adder through a latching circuit connected between the output and input of the adder, where L is the number of discrete steps of deflection angle and M is a binary number representing the total delay time of piezoelectric transducers. The successively latched data is distributed to respective programmable counters for presetting the count values thereof to store therein respective delay time data. High frequency count pulses are supplied to the counters after the latter has been preset for delivery of carry outputs to the associated piezoelectric transducers.

  • Patent number: 4183053
Abstract: Two electron beams are used to scan a striped color phosphor pattern arranged normal to the scan line in succession so as to increase the total amount of photon emission during the interval between successive line scans. The two beams are oscillated parallel to the scan line so as to increase the dwell time of impinging electrons on the phosphor stripe with a consequential increment in brightness. Beam sensing elements are located in a predetermined positional relationship with the phosphor stripes. Impingement of the scanning beams upon the sensing elements produces an index signal representing the nonlinearity which may be present in the horizontal deflection waveform, which signal is stored for the interval of a subsequent raster scan and retrieved nondestructively at the start of each line scan. The retrieved signal is modulated in frequency with a signal representing the time it takes for the beam to traverse the entire phosphor stripes to compensate for the so-called pincushion distortion.

  • Patent number: 4170339
Abstract: An electromagnetic valve comprises a magnetic circuit formed by a stationary core and a movable core, or armature pivoted at one end of the stationary core and rotatable continuously between first and second positions with a free end positioned in opposed relation to the other end of the stationary core with an air gap therebetween. The armature is spring biased so as to remain in the first position and carries a valve head for engagement with a valve seat. The opposing ends of the stationary and movable cores are so shaped as to form in the air gap a first working section in which the main magnetic flux generates a vector component transverse to the length of the armature and a second working section in which the main magnetic flux generates a vector component parallel to the length of the armature. The resulting vector makes the angular displacement of the armature linearly proportional to the supply current.
