  • Patent number: 6333948
Abstract: In a video coding apparatus coding a motion picture while switching a coding mode between an INTER coding mode and an INTRA coding mode, a motion information management part determines whether or not there is motion exceeding a prescribed threshold in an object in each region of m groups of blocks in each frame of the motion picture during a lapse of a prescribed time T from a prescribed point. On the basis of the result of this determination, a whole-group refresh part performs whole-group refresh (INTRA coding in one frame) on a group of blocks of a region having motion exceeding the threshold, and a dispersed refresh part performs dispersed refresh (INTRA coding in frames varying with the block) on a group of blocks of a region having no motion exceeding the threshold. Thus, appearance of a disturbance line is avoided and influence by a transmission error is eliminated in a short time while reducing increase of a coding quantity resulting from refresh.

  • Patent number: 6333074
Abstract: By forming a film that comprises a microcrystalline polymer having at least a fluorocarbon group and has a rough surface on a surface of a base material, super-water-repellency is provided, the dew condensation water of an air conditioner, for example, can be easily removed, and the freezing of the fin of the heat exchanger can be prevented. A fin that is made of aluminium is coated with a solution for forming a coating film, in which CF3(CF2)7—(CH2)2—SiCl3 is diluted with nonaqueous cyclohexamethyl trisiloxane at a concentration of 10 vol. % for preparation, to a thickness of 1 to 10 &mgr;m by a brush, and then the cyclohexamethyl trisiloxane is vaporized in an atmosphere having a relative humidity of about 75% at room temperature. CF3(CF2)7—(CH2)2—SiCl3 that remained on the fin is rapidly hydrolyzed with the moisture in the atmosphere, and the moisture in air and a —SiCl3 group dehydrochlorinated to form a microcrystalline polymer on the fin.

  • Publication number: 20010053142
Abstract: Transmitting apparatus 101 performs transmission processing on a general timeslot, while transmitting sub-data using a sub-timeslot for communication quality improvement. When a receiving process is failed on the general timeslot, receiving apparatus 102 receives the sub-timeslot, combines a received result on the sub-timeslot with the received result on the general timeslot to re-decode, and thereby reduces reception errors. Examples used as the sub-data are data deleted by puncture processing in transmission-coding and data of a bit that is known already to obviously have a poor received characteristic in using an M-ary modulation, etc.

  • Publication number: 20010053106
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device includes memory array, first and second rows of sense amplifiers and selector. The memory array has first and second ports. The first and second rows of sense amplifiers are associated with the first and second ports, respectively. Responsive to a port selection signal, the selector selects the first or second port, through which burst data should be transferred, and couples the first or second row of sense amplifiers, associated with the port selected, to a data input or output circuit. If the selector has selected the first port, the device performs a refresh operation on the array using the second row of sense amplifiers while transferring the burst data through the first port. If the selector has selected the second port, the device performs the refresh operation on the array using the first row of sense amplifiers while transferring the burst data through the second port.

Abstract: When drilling a multi layered sheet-like material, drilling is first made with pulses having energy that generates an inter-layer pull-off force smaller than the adhesion force between the layers. Then pulses with higher energy are radiated for trimming the shape of the holes, and thus through-holes having a desired shape are drilled without causing delamination of the layers.
