Patents Assigned to Matsushita Refrigeration Company
  • Patent number: 4832117
Abstract: A fin tube heat exchanger is internally provided with a plurality of plate-shaped and regularly spaced fin members, a plurality of heat exchanger tubes inserted into through-holes defined in each fin member and a plurality of raised pieces formed in each fin member in a plurality of rows. The raised pieces in the same row are raised from a fin base in a direction opposite to the direction in which the raised pieces in adjacent rows are raised. The number of the raised pieces in each row is gradually increased as their row is located farther from a common center line of the through-holes. The raised pieces are integrally formed with and raised from the fin base between adjacent heat exchanger tubes so that two slits defined between the fin base and each raised piece may be open against the air flow.

  • Patent number: 4805666
Abstract: SA four way slide valve comprises a plunger (122, 51) connected to a slider (113, 45) and a solenoid coil (12, 55) for driving the plunger thereby to switch the four way valve between room-heating and room-cooling, and further, by inserting a demagnetizable permanent magnet (54) in series to magnetic circuit of the plunger (51) and a stator core (52) and magnetizing and demagnetizing the permanent magnet for switching operation of the refrigerant circuit, the hitherto necessitated retention current for the plunger is eliminated, thereby eliminating undesirable noises hitherto generated by a pilot valve used for switching the slide valve, and further saving the power consumption.

  • Patent number: 4788832
Abstract: A refrigerator according to the present invention is so designed that the refrigerating chamber is divided by a partition plate into an upper cooling chamber and a lower cooling chamber in which a vegetable storing container in a sealed structure is accommodated, the vegetable storing container having a lid member attached with a humidity permeable film of gas permeability, whereby the humidity inside the vegetable storing container is maintained within a predetermined range suitable for preservation of vegetables, such that the vegetables are prevented from being dried to be withered and can be kept fresh for relatively a long period of time.

  • Patent number: 4781551
Abstract: A rotary compressor for use with refrigerating apparatuses such as freezing refrigerators, freezers, showcases for household or commercial use incorporates a mechanism in a compressor unit. When a space to be freezed is freezed in a on-off operation mode, the mechanism prevents a large amount of high temperature refrigerant gas in a closed casing of the compressor from being discharged to an evaporator during the suspension of the operation of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 4723600
Abstract: Disclosed is a heat exchanger arranged such that a plurality of groups of cuttouts are formed on the surfaces of flat fins as between vertically adjacent heat transfer tubes by providing a plurality of cutouts, including two openings extending transverse to the direction of the air flow and two legs nonparallel with said direction of the air flow, on the front and reverse sides of the flat fins. This arrangement remarkably reduces the heat resistance between the air and the fin surfaces. Since the plurality of cutouts or the plurality of groups of cutouts are formed in the identical configuration, maintenance of a mold can be facilitated.

  • Patent number: 4691767
Abstract: A heat exchanger is provided in an air conditioner, refrigerator or the like, and is provided for the indirect transmission and reception of heat between fluids. The heat exchanger comprises a plurality of flat plate fins which are arranged parallel to one another at predetermined intervals so as to allow air stream to flow therebetween, and a plurality of heat transfer tubes passing through the flat plate fins for allowing a fluid to flow therethrough. Each fin is provided with a number of groups of air vents arranged to cross the wake side of the air stream. Each of the air vents is defined by a slat having four sides in which two sides, facing the air stream, are opened and other two sides are provided with leg portions for connecting the slat with the fin. The leg portions are aligned with each other and are inclined with respect to the normal line of the leading edge of the fin.

  • Patent number: 4625378
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a fin-tube heat exchanger which includes a multiplicity of plate fins arranged in a plurality of rows disposed at a predetermined pitch in the direction of air flow, and a jointless refrigerant pipe extending through the plate fins in a zigzag manner. Pipe-receiving holes are formed in each plate fin in an offset manner relative to the center of the plate fin. The plate fins are then placed in fin-receiving grooves formed in a straight fin positioning fixture at predetermined spacings such that the same longitudinal ends of the plate fins of alternating rows appear on the same side of the fin positioning fixture and such that the pipe-receiving holes are linearly aligned. The refrigerant pipe is inserted into the pipe-receiving holes and is expanded to make tight and close contact with the plate fins.

  • Patent number: 4573879
Abstract: A rotary compressor for refrigerating apparatuses, including a motor unit, a compressor mechanism section including a cylinder, rotary piston in the cylinder and a bearing between the motor unit and the cylinder, and a discharge muffler. The discharge muffler is formed of a diaphragm and a discharge cover placed over a surface of the bearing opposite the motor unit, the surface of the bearing covered by the diaphragm having a concavity therein housing a valve leading to the cylinder. The diaphragm has a permanently open diaphragm hole for permitting the pressurized gas therein to flow into a discharge chamber defined between the diaphragm and the discharge cover, whereby the portion of the concavity not filled by the valve and the diaphragm define a muffler for muffling sounds of the compressor.
