  • Patent number: 6537129
Abstract: A generally square-shaped doll bed includes a square base supporting a quartet of vertical posts at its corners. The base defines a center recess within which a platform is supported by a pivoting arm. The pivoting arm is secured to a further pivoting arm which extends outward beyond the base and terminates in a depressible pad. A doll is supported above the platform by a pair of resilient bands secured to frame members coupled between the vertical posts. As the user depresses and releases the pad, the platform exerts upward forces against the doll causing it to move in a jumping action.

  • Patent number: 6527619
Abstract: A toy vehicle has a vehicle body, a firing apparatus rotatably mounted on the vehicle body and a ram mounted within the firing apparatus. A spring is operably coupled to the ram and a firing lever is rotatably coupled to the firing apparatus and the ram. Rotation of the firing lever retracts the ram against the spring and abruptly releases the ram to strike a projectile within the firing apparatus to fire the projectile from the firing apparatus. A pair of foot rests are pivotally mounted and releasably latched to the vehicle body and released by a button mounted on the rear of the vehicle body. The toy vehicle further includes circuitry having switches for operating light and/or sound effects on the toy vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6528122
Abstract: The invention is directed to resin coating, adhesive, and cement compositions comprising styrenic copolymers and a solvent comprised of a terpene and certain high evaporation rate organic solvents. The high evaporation rate terpene co-solvents reduce the drying times of applied coatings and enhance the character of the ultimately applied coating in the formation of high adhesion bonding with molded elastomeric styrene copolymer surface substrates. The invention is also directed to a method of applying the instant coatings to substrate surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6520828
Abstract: A combination including a toy and a removable element inserted therein includes the toy having a generator and an actuator therewith. The actuator enables the generator to generate a sound or movement. An improvement of this combination includes the removable element being operably connected to the generator such that the removable element enables the generator to generate a first volume of the sound and removal of the removable element enables the sound generator to generate a second volume of the sound which is different from the first volume of the sound. Instead of or in addition to the removal of the removable element enabling the toy to generate a different volume of the sound, the removal of the removable element can enable the toy to emit a second duration of sound different from a first duration of sound and/or produce a second duration of a movement different from a first duration of a movement.

  • Patent number: 6520862
Abstract: The present invention provides an infant swing frame having a base, and first and second support posts. Each of the support posts is pivotally coupled at a first end thereof to the base, and each of the support posts has a second end. A cross member is coupled between the support posts. The support posts and the base are reconfigurable between a first position in which the support posts are angularly spaced from the base and a second position in which the support posts are adjacent the base.

  • Patent number: 6520516
Abstract: The convertible skateboard/scooter includes a base board with wheels coupled to a lower side of the base board. A handle is hinged to the base board and is movable between a first position in which the device can be used as a conventional skateboard, and a second position in which the device can be used as a conventional scooter. In the skateboard configuration, the handle is located adjacent a side surface of the device to provide a top surface that is unobstructed by the handle and upon which a user can stand while skateboarding. A parental lock can be located in the handle to lock the handle at either one of the first and second positions and to prevent the conversion of the device between the skateboard and scooter configurations by a child. An indent in the rear of the base permits the handle to be used for carrying the device when in the skateboard configuration.

  • Patent number: 6522244
Abstract: A ride-on vehicle for children comprising a body with a seat, a plurality of wheels rotatably coupled to the body, a steering mechanism operable by a child seated on the seat, and a frame forming a portion of the body. The frame includes a plurality of interconnected frame members, with at least one of the frame members comprising an audio-visual device configured to emit at least one of a light and a sound upon the occurrence of a triggering event. The audio-visual device has opposing end regions that are connected to other frame members such that the audio-visual device forms a portion of the frame and maintains other frame members in a spaced-apart relationship. In some embodiments, the frame at least partially defines a riding space, and the audio-visual device is configured to be activated by a child seated within the riding space.
