Publication number: 20100224275Abstract: An apparatus for straightening fluid flow in a conduit or pipeline, such as an irrigation pipeline, resides in an integral assembly of a conical fluid flow displacement member effective to substantially lineralize the velocity profile of fluid flowing through the pipeline and a plurality of circumferentially spaced vanes extending longitudinally and radially of the conical member and effective to mitigate swirl and eccentric velocity profiles in the flowing fluid. The conical member consists simply of a single cone that is centered in the pipeline by the vanes. A bolt extending through the wall of the pipe and threaded into a nut on a vane secures the straightener in the line.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 9, 2008Publication date: September 9, 2010Applicant: Mc Crometer , Inc.Inventor: Robert N. Publication number: 20100141581Abstract: Control device for a computer mouse. In order to enhance comfort as much as possible and to avoid or even cure RSI phenomena, a control is proposed with a curved finger-supporting element and thumb-supporting element with varying curvatures. Optimum support for the hand and fingers (thumb) is obtained if there is a certain correlation between the length over which the hand, including the fingers, is supported and the width available for supporting the fingers. This value is preferably in the range 0.3-0.6 and more specifically is 0.45. Furthermore, the curvature and height of the finger-supporting element and thumb-supporting element must be implemented such that they are a function of the length of the control device. According to a particular embodiment the finger-supporting element is implemented such that, when viewed transversely, this descends from the highest point in a circle.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 27, 2006Publication date: June 10, 2010Applicant: ERASMUS MCInventors: Christiaan Johannes Snijders, Robbert Smit, Paulus Cornelius Helder
