    Abstract: A card connector has: a connector housing which is formed therein so as to be enclosed on three sides by an opposed pair of first and second frames and a third frame that links the end portions of the first and second frames; and an open-close cover. The open-close cover has a sensing member that senses the installation status of the card, and a cover locking mechanism that latches onto either the first or the second frame and locks the open-close cover in the closed state. The rear of the open-close cover is rotatably pivoted on the first and second frames. The card's installation status is sensed by closing the open-close cover and positioning the sensing member at the rear end portion of the card; and the open-close cover is retracted, being thereby locked in the closed state via the cover locking mechanism.

    Abstract: A receptacle terminal includes a cable connection portion 31 connected to a cable, and a contacting portion 2 insertion-connected to a tab terminal. The contacting portion 2 has a flat part 21 of a particular area, and a pair of sideplate parts 23, 23 of a particular length that stand up in the same direction from the two sides of the flat part and oppose each other at a particular spacing. The lower portion of the opposed surfaces of such pair of sideplate parts 23, 23 is cut and lifted out to form spring pieces 24, 24 which remains joined to the sideplate at the top. Such spring pieces are bent toward each other, forming a gap between the bottom edge of each spring piece and the flat part, and the tab terminal 4 is inserted into such gaps. A simple structure and strong elastic contacting force are provided.

    Abstract: An electric connector includes a connector body 2 having contacts, and a connector housing 10. The connector housing 10 has a cavity 12, for housing the connector body 2, and an operation lever 16. The connector body 2 is inserted into the cavity 12, and the electric connector is engaged with another connector by rotating the operation lever 16. The connector housing 10 has a sensing member 13 on one of its sidewalls. The sensing member 13 resiliently changes its shape according to insertion conditions of the connector body 2, either rising from the sidewall or flat on the sidewall. The sensing member 13 detects the insertion conditions of the connector body 2 in the cavity 12. The operation lever 16 hits the sensing member 13 when the sensing member rises from the sidewall, and rotation of the operation lever 16 is blocked. With this configuration, connection between the connector body 2 having the contacts and the connector housing 10 that houses the connector body 2 is properly made.

In front of the first tubular body, two pairs of opposing overhangs are formed projecting a certain distance from the forward surface of the first connector body, whereby one pair of overhangs is bent mid-way in a direction such that their forward edges approach each other but a certain gap is provided between them forming first and second guide latching portions. One of the other pair of opposing overhangs has an insertion opening formed in it, into which the male connector is inserted and passes through the aforementioned gap in order to affect connection while being guided by the first and second guide latching portions.

    Abstract: An electric connector includes a connector body 2 having contacts, and a connector housing 10. The operation lever 16 hits the sensing member 13 when the sensing member rises from the sidewall, and rotation of the operation lever 16 is blocked. With this configuration, connection between the connector body 2 having the contacts and the connector housing 10 that houses the connector body 2 is properly made.
