Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed including female and a male connectors wherein the female connector has a resin first connector body to which a first set of contact pins are attached and a tubular metallic shell that ensheathes the outer surfaces of the first connector body. In front of the first tubular body, two pairs of opposing overhangs are formed projecting a certain distance from the forward surface of the first connector body, whereby one pair of overhangs is bent mid-way in a direction such that their forward edges approach each other but a certain gap is provided between them forming first and second guide latching portions. One of the other pair of opposing overhangs has an insertion opening formed in it, into which the male connector is inserted and passes through the aforementioned gap in order to affect connection while being guided by the first and second guide latching portions.

  • Publication number: 20070128907
Abstract: The invention relates to a connector 1 comprising contact pins 3 and 3A having a contact part on a tip end thereof and a wire connection part on a rear end thereof, and a connector housing 4 having a receiving hole 5 for receiving therein the contact pins 3 and 3A and wires W. The connector 1 also includes a bridge type connection member 22 including a connection blade 23 which includes first and second contact parts 23a and 23b connected to each other via a junction piece 23c. The bridge type connection member 22 is pushed into the receiving hole 5 with the contact pins 3 and 3A and the wires W being received in the receiving hole 5, thereby connecting the connection parts of the contact pins 3 and 3A to core wires of the wires via the first and second contact parts 23a and 23b. This can provide a connector for easily connecting wires having various sizes and various types of contact pins without using a special tool.

  • Patent number: 7094075
Abstract: A connector for mounting on a printed wiring board includes a housing, contact terminals disposed in the housing, a fixing member, and a hood detachably connected to the housing with the fixing member. The contact terminals each have a contact pin to contact a mating connector and a terminal portion to contact a wiring pattern on the printed wiring board. The hood includes a protruding portion having an insertion hole, whereas the housing includes a cavity to accommodate the protruding portion and a vertical hole, with which the insertion hole is communicated when the protruding portion is accommodated in the cavity. The fixing member includes a projected rod. The projected rod is inserted into the vertical hole and the insertion hole, thereby allowing the hood to be detachably attached to the housing.
