  • Patent number: 5772030
Abstract: A package for containers such as cans or bottles arranged into two tiers includes a carton having a top wall, a pair of side walls, and a bottom wall all interconnected to form a tubular structure. A pair of lower end flaps is connected to the end edges of the bottom wall and a pair of upper end flaps is connected to the end edges of the top wall, the flaps being glued together to close the carton ends. The side wall width is smaller than the top or bottom wall length, whereby the carton includes open corners through which a portion of some of the packaged articles are exposed. A divider panel includes a main body portion having a pair of end edges and is of a length generally equal to said top wall length. A pair of divider end flaps are connected to the end edges of the main body. The divider panel is disposed within the carton. Each of the divider end flaps is glued to an inner surface of one of the upper and lower end flaps.

  • Patent number: 5755341
Abstract: A display shelf comprises a back in and elongate parallel tracks arranged side by side along the lower side of the backing panel. Each track is adapted to support a row of articles such that the articles in the row are suspended from each track for movement along that track. The backing panel and the tracks are formed together as a unitary structure. A method of making the display shelf comprises forming moldable material into a unitary structure including a backing panel and parallel hollow longitudinal ribs arranged side by side along one of the opposite sides of the backing panel. Each longitudinal rib includes a pair of longitudinally extending opposed side walls interconnected by a longitudinally extending bridging wall. The method also comprises cutting a slot in the bridging wall of each longitudinal rib.

  • Patent number: 5738273
Abstract: A carton for beverage containers includes a series of hinged panels forming a sleeve and end closure panels hinged at least to one of the hinged panels for closing, at least in part, the opposite ends of the sleeve. The one panel includes a handle strap by which the canon can be carried. The handle strap is disposed in a stowed substantially coplanar relationship with the one panel when the carton subsists as an open-ended sleeve and is automatically put into a position of use when the end closure panels are hinged into their closed positions so that at least a user portion of the handle panel stands proud of the one panel.

  • Patent number: 5715763
Abstract: A black liquor recovery boiler furnace having quaternary air injection ports located in the furnace walls in the vicinity of, or at approximately the same elevation as, the black liquor injection guns. The quaternary air injection ports are located between the secondary air injection ports and the tertiary air injection ports. Air introduced at this level provides a much more efficient mixing and combustion without solid particle carryover. A zone of increased or intensified combustion is established around the black liquor injection guns. The injection site combustion zone is at an intermediate location to the combustion zones conventionally supplied by the secondary and tertiary air ports. In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, the black liquor injection guns inject the black liquor into the furnace in a downwardly inclined direction.
