Patents Assigned to Meta Platform Technologies, LLC
  • Patent number: 12650268
Abstract: A heat pipe comprises a first substrate and an evaporator portion comprising a plurality of raised features on a surface of the first substrate. The heat pipe also comprises a condenser portion including a coating of an organic compound on the surface of the first substrate, wherein the coating of the organic compound on the surface of the first substrate in the condenser portion has a carbon content in a range of 1% to 15%. The heat pipe further comprises a second substrate bonded to the first substrate and a working fluid between the first substrate and the second substrate.

  • Patent number: 12493191
Abstract: A lens assembly for a head mounted device may be configured to in-couple light from an eyebox region using a number of waveguide systems coupled to a number of image sensors, for example, for one or both lens assemblies in the head mounted device. The waveguide systems may be positioned in the lens assembly. The waveguide systems may be configured to in-couple light from various portions of the eyebox region. The waveguide systems may be configured to couple the light from a center region of the lens assembly to a number of peripheral regions of the lens assembly. The image sensors may be optically coupled to the waveguide systems and may be configured to receive portions of the light from the waveguide systems.

  • Patent number: 12412244
Abstract: In particular embodiments, a computing system may capture a first image of a scene using a first camera of an artificial reality device. The system may capture a second image of the scene using a second camera and one or more optical elements of the artificial reality device. The second image may include an overlapping portion of multiple shifted copies of the scene. The system may generate an upsampled first image by applying a particular sampling technique to the first image. The system may generate a tiled image comprising a plurality of repeated second images by applying a tiling process to the second image. The system may generate an initial output image by processing the upsampled first image and the tiled image using a machine learning model. The system may generate a final output image by normalizing the initial output image using the upsampled first image.

  • Patent number: 12248204
Abstract: A reflective polarization rotator based on a twisted nematic (TN) liquid crystal (LC) configuration may be optimized for achromatic performance in both bright and dark states by compensating wavelength dependence of polarization transformation by the TN LC layer. At linear achromatic input polarization, the compensation aims to provide a circular achromatic polarization at the reflector, which guarantees the achromaticity of the 90 degrees polarization rotation on double pass. The compensation takes care to preserve linear polarization at the reflector when the LC device is driven to a vertical LC director configuration. Such an approach ensures that the performance of the polarization rotator is achromatic in both driven and undriven states of the LC device.

  • Patent number: 12218944
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to group travel between artificial reality (XR) destinations. Currently, users in an artificial reality (XR) experience cannot travel with a group to a specific destination or between destinations (e.g., to and from virtual worlds, levels, applications, etc.). Thus, some implementations assign users within a group in a multiplayer XR experience (e.g., a virtual lobby) a same session identifier. When the users select a destination, some implementations can provide a computing system hosting the destination with the session identifier associated with the users, such that the hosting computing system can ensure that the users travel to the same instance of the destination together. If a user does not already have the destination installed, some implementations can allow the user to acquire access rights to the destination, then travel to the same instance of the destination as the other users.
