  • Patent number: 6136067
Abstract: The filtering plant has a plurality of porous, gas-permeable filter elements with at least one raw gas side and at least one clean gas side. The gas to be cleaned (raw gas) flows towards the raw gas side, and the clean gas side is connected with a clean gas passage. Into the clean gas passage and into the filter elements, pulse gas coming from a pressure vessel is introduced for periodically detaching dust adhering at the raw gas side. Via a gas-permeable passage, the pressure vessel is connected with a measuring chamber having a smaller volume than the pressure vessel. While pulse gas flows out of the pressure vessel into the clean gas passage and to the filter elements, the pressure difference .DELTA.p=p1-p2 is measured and monitored, where p1 is the static pressure in the measuring chamber, and p2 is the static pressure in the pressure vessel. Expediently, an alarm signal is activated when the maximum of the pressure difference falls below a predetermined minimum value.

  • Patent number: 6087139
Abstract: Citric acid and/or the salts thereof are produced from a raw material containing carbohydrates. An aqueous solution of the raw material is converted into a first solution containing citric acid by means of fermentation, and from the first solution a second solution containing citric acid is obtained by means of a cell separation. The second solution is subjected to a protein precipitation at temperatures of 2 to 70.degree. C., and protein is separated by filtration. From the filtration, a third solution containing citric acid is obtained, and the same is passed through a first anion exchanger. The solution containing citric acid, which is discharged from the first anion exchanger, is passed through a second anion exchanger, which is selectively charged with citric acid. The second anion exchanger charged with citric acid is eluted with hydroxide solution or water, and there is thus obtained a fourth solution, in which citrate or citric acid is dissolved.

  • Patent number: 6074456
Abstract: The granular sponge iron is supplied to a roller press at temperatures of 600 to 850.degree. C. for molding the hot briquets. There is produced a strip structure of sponge iron containing formed hot briquets, which are arranged at a distance from each other. By smashing the strip structure, the hot briquets are separated from each other, so that fragments of the strip structure are obtained. The hot briquets and at least part of the fragments are cooled to temperatures in the range from 20 to 400.degree. C., and the cooled briquets and fragments are passed through a rotary drum. In the rotary drum, fine-grained fines of the briquets and fragments are produced. Subsequently, these fines are separated from the briquets and fragments, as they exhibit a pyrophoric behavior.

  • Patent number: 5964982
Abstract: A solution to be evaporated is passed through one or several evaporation stages. In each evaporation stage, the solution is circulated between a heat exchanger and an evaporating vessel, and steam is withdrawn from the evaporating vessel. For removing crusts, the evaporation in the respective evaporation stage is interrupted, and a cleaning suspension containing at least 3 wt % granular solids is circulated through the heat exchanger and the evaporating vessel. The solids, which have an abrasive effect, remove the crusts. Preferably, the solution to be evaporated is circulated through the evaporation stage for removing the crusts, where the heat exchanger is heated and the cleaning solution is evaporated to such an extent that solids crystallize out and a cleaning suspension is formed.
