  • Patent number: 11395762
Abstract: A phacoemulsification or aspiration tip is designed for use in cataract surgeries. The phacoemulsification tip (also referred to as a phaco tip) can reduce the duration and energy of cataract surgeries because the phaco tip is designed to reduce the likelihood that cataract fragments will become clogged inside the phaco tip. For example, the phaco tip has a lumen with variable sized diameters, which helps filter out larger cataract fragments that are more likely to clog the phaco tip. Further, the phaco tip can have a larger diameter at a bend to prevent blockages. The opening of the phaco tip can have a sharp edge to shear cataract fragments into smaller pieces that are less likely to clog the phaco tip. By preventing blockages using the phaco tip and reducing the duration of cataract surgeries, patients may recover faster from the cataract surgeries.

  • Patent number: 11345058
Abstract: A machine for conical machining workpieces of wood and plastics has a support supporting the workpieces during feeding in a transport direction through the machine. Rotatably driven tools are provided to machine longitudinal sides of the workpieces extending in the transport direction. At least one of the rotatably driven tools is adjustable transverse to the transport direction. A tongue and groove guide guides the workpieces through the machine in transport direction. In a method for conical machining workpieces, the workpieces prior to or during feeding are measured in regard to the conicity to be machined. A form-fit element is produced on the workpieces and interacts with a counter form-fit element during feeding of the workpieces so as to guide the workpieces in transport direction. At least one of the rotatably driven tools is adjusted transverse to the transport direction during feeding of the workpieces based on the measured conicity.

  • Publication number: 20220121227
Abstract: A fluid arrangement (10) for continuous delivery of volumetrically proportioned gases or like fluids includes a valve assembly (11) and a volumetric fluid storage bank (143), which has first and second sets (144, 151) of fluid storage chambers (145, 148, 152, 155). The valve assembly (11) alternately supplies a consumer with a blend of gases from the first set (144) of fluid storage chambers while charging the second set (151) of fluid storage chambers from pressurized gas sources (158, 159), and, upon a threshold depletion of gases from the first set (144) of chambers, supplies the consumer with a blend of gases from the second set (151) of fluid storage chambers while charging the first set (144) of fluid storage chambers from the gas sources (158, 159). The valve assembly (11) again supplies mixed gases from the first set (144) of chambers while charging the second set (151) of chambers.

  • Patent number: 11273471
Abstract: An in-line shell egg pasteurizer has a clean-in-place system. Empty shell egg carriers are placed in the water bath for multiple cleaning cycles. The cleaning solution level is lowered to expose the shell egg carriers and the top parts of the water bath walls. An air perturbation is used to agitate cleaning solution held in the bottom of the water bath and clean heating coils and other components located in the bottom of the water bath. Sprayers (e.g., nozzles, cleaning spray balls, etc. . . . ) mounted on a hood over the water bath clean the top parts of the water bath walls and the empty shell egg carriers placed in the water bath.
