Abstract: A material formed as a film comprised of monomolecular layers (2,3,4,5) stacked on a substrate (1), wherein said film includes at least one first set (R) of layers which form an electric charge reservoir, and a second set (S) of layers which form a conductive cell and which contain a number of conductive copper oxide layers (4), separated from each other by intermediate layers (5), the reservoir and the conductive cell being adjacent in the layer stack. There are at least four conductive copper oxide layers, and the intermediate layers have the chemical formula Ca.sub.1-x M.sub.x and are free of strontium, wherein x is a real number between 0 and 0.2, M is a component with an ionic radius close to that of the Ca.sup.2+ ion, and the intermediate layers may be complete or not.

Abstract: A sling system for attachment to a firearm using conventional sling-mounting studs, or for attachment to luggage, and including a molded plastic connector portion attached permanently to a strap portion by being molded in place onto an end of the strap portion. The strap portion may be of tubular cloth enclosing a padding element that is adhesively attached to the interior of the tubular cloth portion. The connector portion of the sling includes a pair of legs each defining one of a pair of collinear bores to receive a swivel pin extending between the legs to attach the connector to an article to be carried.
Abstract: An assembly for use in mounting a lid on a kiln body. An anchor member is mounted on a side surface of the kiln body defined by a metal outer layer of the body, which anchor member has a horizontal pivot pin fixed adjacent its upper end. Spaced hinge portions are attached to the periphery of the lid and have surfaces defining through openings receiving and being pivotable about the pivot pin, including generally vertically extending surfaces that afford vertical movement of the lid relative to the pivot pin to accommodate vertical expansion of a ceramic lining in the kiln during heating of the kiln. The assembly also includes a force transfer structure including (1) a pivot portion pivotably mounted on the pivot pin and projecting from the pivot pin along the periphery of the lid and above the upper surface of the lid, and (2) a transverse portion attached to an upper part of the pivot portion.

Abstract: A portable ledge apparatus and method which may be quickly set up by a single user wherein four support arms fold into position from a central retaining member.
Abstract: A shower-bed device that provides a high degree of self-mobility to a handicapped individual during showering. The device includes a platform with a water-resistant, non-slip padded surface with through-holes to allow water to flow therethrough. Large wheels with hand-rims provide the handicapped individual with a way to move the shower-bed. Small wheels that may pivot as well as rotate provide increased maneuverability. Adjustable-railings that prevent the handicapped individual from falling from the platform are also provided.
Abstract: A method and means by which a called telecommunications device (14), connected on an established PSTN telecommunications link (18) with a wireless caller telecommunications device (12), can initiate a conference call to be set up from the wireless caller device (12) by sending a command signal to a data processing means (24) interfaced (22) with the wireless caller device (12). In response to the command signal, the data processing means (24) sends a signal set to the wireless caller device (12) via their mutual interface (22), causing the wireless caller device (12) to cause the PSTN (18) to set up the desired conference link (20) at the caller end of the established link (18). The method can be applied by a called alarm monitoring facility (14) to obtain emergency assistance for a distressed wireless caller (12) by causing a conference link (20) with a caller local PSAP (16) to be set up automatically from the wireless caller device (12).
Abstract: Methods are disclosed for correcting biological information transfer in a patient in need of such therapy which comprise administration to a patient of a composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a biocomplex comprising at least one bioactive agent from each of the three informational blocks of biological information transfer, each agent being present in an amount sufficient to correct the biological information transfer of the patient under treatment and resulting in the resumption of normal cell metabolism, said amount being less than the buffering amount of said agent; together with a carrier therefor.
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing petrol of high octane number by catalytic reforming of hydrocarbons by passing these hydrocarbons through a platinum/rhenium catalyst arranged in the form of a hollow cylinder at 450.degree.-500.degree. C. and a pressure of 1.5-3 MPa in a direction perpendicular to the cylinder axis, in which the feed mixture is passed through in the direction from the cylinder axis to the circumference thereof. The invention further relates to a reactor for carrying out the process mentioned, in particular as shown in FIG. 1.

Abstract: Collapsible containers configurable to provide a plurality of seaparate compartments are described, each having a back wall (84) carrying elements (104B, 104C) hingeably movable from positions parallel to the back wall to positions extending normally of that wall and defining compartments. In one embodiment stackable rigid structures (formed from inter-engageable boarding pieces) are placed within the container with the movable elements located between pairs of structures. In another embodiment the movable elements are rigid and form (when extended) bases for trays and lie immediately beneath side supports hinged to the back wall and rotatable from positions parallel to that wall to positions extending normally of that wall to act as end (and possibly) divider walls for the trays.

Abstract: A digital resistance indicator for P.S.I. Nordic Track, of Chaska, Minn., under the mark NORDIC TRACK exercise machines is provided for use with exercise machines having a frictional resistance device for creating a resistive force in response to reciprocating arm movements by an operator. The resistance indicator comprises a resistance adjustment device, operatively connected to the frictional resistance device, for varying the level of the resistive force; and a digital indicator, coupled to the resistance adjustment device, for displaying a numerical value corresponding to a particular position of the resistance adjustment device. The resistance adjustment device may comprise a rotatable handwheel, a lever, or any other suitable element which can be grasped by the human hand and used to impart an increase or decrease in resistive force to the frictional resistance device.
Abstract: A water supply system and method for supplying water to a plurality of water utilization devices, particularly poultry drinkers, supported over a floor extending at a predetermined slope, includes a water supply conduit extending over and substantially parallel to the floor, and a plurality of pressure reducers in the water supply conduit at spaced intervals along its length. Each pressure reducer reduces the water pressure a predetermined amount according to the slope of the span of the water supply conduit from the respective pressure reducer to the next adjacent one upstream of the water supply conduit.
