  • Patent number: 4858268
Abstract: There is disclosed a windshield wiper device for wiping the window glass of an automotive vehicle. The windshield wiper includes: an arm head, a retainer, an arm spring, and a wiper blade. The arm head is adapted to be fixed to the wiper shaft of the vehicle so as to oscillate about an axis of oscillation. The retainer is pivotally connected to the arm head for movement about a pivot axis extending perpendicularly to the axis of oscillation. The arm spring is interposed between the arm head and the retainer member to urge the retainer member toward the window glass upon the fixation of the arm head to the wiper shaft. The arm piece is disposed perpendicularly to the pivot axis and is rotatably connected to the retainer member for movement about the longitudinal axis of the arm piece. The wiper blade is connected to the arm piece so as to be pressed against the window glass by the arm spring upon the fixation of the arm head to the wiper shaft.

  • Patent number: 4859894
Abstract: An alternating current generator includes a frame, a rotation shaft, a slip ring attached to the rotation shaft, a brush in contact with the slip ring, and a brush holder secured to the frame. The brush holder includes a brush-guiding portion and a cover portion. The brush-guiding portion of the brush holder has a hollow slidably receiving the brush for movement in a radial direction with respect to the rotation shaft. The cover portion of the brush holder encloses that portion of the rotation shaft whee the slip ring is attached so that the slip ring is protected from outside dust and splash. This cover portion is integrally formed with the brush-guiding portion in such a manner that neither a clearance nor a mating surface is produced between the cover portion and the brush-guiding portion.

  • Patent number: 4857812
Abstract: Disclosed is an electric motor system for automobiles having an electric motor and a control circuit for the motor, wherein the control circuit is attached to a part of a metallic housing of the motor system by means of a bonding agent and is embedded in resin material so as to maintain a favorable heat removal from the control circuit by virtue of a high heat conductivity and a heat radiation capability of the housing. Preferably, the housing accommodates a speed reduction unit which is connected to the output shaft of the motor and reduces its rotation speed. Favorable heat removal from the control circuit improves the reliability and the performance of the control circuit, and since the control circuit can be directly wired to the motor the number and the cross section of the electric wires which extend between various parts of the motor system can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 4756233
Abstract: Disclosed is an air filter unit for a pressure actuator such as a vacuum actuator for a speed control of an automobile comprising a solenoid valve unit including a plurality of solenoid valves and a diaphragm unit including a diaphragm defining a pressure chamber, air pressure within the pressure chamber being adjusted by selective activation of the solenoid valves which communicate the pressure chamber with pressure sources of different pressure levels. A filter element holder defining a pair of receptacles for receiving filter elements therein is attached to the solenoid valve unit so as to intercept air flow from an external air source into the vacuum chamber by way of the solenoid valves. The filter element for a vent valve which is frequently used is finer in structure than that for a safety valve which is less frequently used and is required to be capable of rapid introduction of air into the vacuum chamber.
