Abstract: Disclosed are a negative photosensitive composition comprising an alkali-soluble resin, a photo acid generating system, and a crosslinking agent for the alkali-soluble resin which acts on the resin under acidic conditions, in which the crosslinking agent is a highly-alkylated alkoxymethylmelamine resin having a monomer content of from 5 to 40% by weight, and a method for forming a negative photo-resist pattern using the composition. The resist composition is stable during storage and gives good pattern profiles having high aspect ratios even though the resist film is made thick.
Abstract: A process for producing a precursor of a phosphorus-vanadium oxide catalyst for production of maleic anhydride by vapor phase oxidation of a hydrocarbon having 4 carbon atoms, which comprises reacting phosphoric acid and a pentavalent vanadium compound in an organic solvent capable of reducing at least a portion of the pentavalent vanadium to a valence state of +4, the phosphoric acid being substantially composed of orthophosphoric acid, and a phosphoric acid solution whose concentration is 88 to 96% being used as a source of the phosphoric acid; and a process for producing the catalyst comprising dry-pulverizing the catalyst precursor.

Abstract: A process for producing an aromatic polycarbonate having a weight average molecular weight of from 7,000 to 60,000 is disclosed, comprising melt polycondensing an aromatic diol compound (e.g., bisphenol A) and a diaryl carbonate compound (e.g., diphenyl carbonate) in the presence of a combination of (a) an alkali metal compound and (b) a phosphonium hydroxide compound (e.g., tetraethylphosphonium hydroxide) as an interesterification catalyst. The aromatic polycarbonate has improved heat resistance and hue.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sulfamoyl triazole derivative and a fungicide containing same as an effective component, the sulfamoyl triazole derivative being expressed by general formula (I): ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different lower alkyl groups or an alkylene chain formed by integrating R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 and having 3 to 6 carbon atoms which may be substituted by a lower alkyl group; p is an integer 0 or 1; and A is a substituted aryl group.The fungicide does not damage field and garden plants and it is effective for preventing and curing various disease injury at very small dosages.
Abstract: An improved process for producing N-vinylformamide including the steps of evaporating N-(.alpha.-substituted-ethyl)formamide or ethylidenebisformamide under reduced pressure and thermally decomposing the vapor at 150.degree.-600.degree. C., wherein the improvement comprises performing thermal decomposition by means of a pyrolysis reactor which is made up of two stages, the first being an unpacked tubular reactor constructed such that liquid flows down and the second being a packed tubular reactor, while keeping the vapor temperature at 200.degree.-400.degree. C. at the outlet of the unpacked tubular reactor and the inside temperature of the packed tubular reactor at 200.degree.-600.degree. C.
Abstract: A process for producing a carbon fiber reinforced carbon composite material, comprising dispersing a short fibrous bundle of carbon fibers which comprises a plurality of single fibers, preparing a sheet in which fibers are in the two-dimensional random orientation, impregnating with a resin or pitch, laminating and molding, and then applying a baking and densifying treatment, a dispersion degree of the bundle of carbon fibers being controlled based on the formula (1) expressing correlation between the dispersion degree of the bundle of carbon fibers and the mechanical strength of the carbon fiber reinforced composite material:Dispersion degree=A-B.times.coefficient of friction (1)wherein A and B are constants determined experimentally, to produce a carbon fiber reinforced carbon composite material having desired mechanical characteristic.
Abstract: A polyethylene for an insulation layer of a power cable, of which the dissipation factor never increases even in a high-temperature, high electric field, and a crosslinked polyethylene insulated power cable which uses this polyethylene so that the high-temperature dielectric breakdown voltage is large enough for high-capacitance transmission. This polyethylene is a low-density polyethylene which is synthesized by high-pressure radical polymerization of ethylene, and has properties including: a melt flow rate of 0.1 to 10 g/10 minutes; a density of 0.915 to 0.935 g/cm.sup.3 ; an absorbance of 0.03 to 1.0 for a ketone-type carbonyl group, having a peak in a position corresponding to a wave-number of 1,725.+-.4 cm.sup.-1 in an infrared absorption spectrum, an absorbance of 1.0 or less for an ester-type carbonyl group, having a peak in a position corresponding to a wave-number of 1,743.+-.4 cm.sup.-1 and absorbances of less than 0.

Abstract: A process for preparing an aromatic polycarbonate resin from an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a carbonate diester by transesterification in the presence of a transesterification catalyst comprising; reacting a purified carbonate diester with an aromatic dihydroxy compound in the presence of a transesterification catalyst to form a polycarbonate prepolymer; said carbonate diester containing benzophenone and benzoate ester derivatives having a molecular weight of less than 1,000, each in an amount of 100 ppm or less, said polycarbonate prepolymer having a viscosity average molecular weight of 5,000 to 20,000 at a temperature of 140.degree. to 280.degree. C., the reaction pressure being from 0.1 Torr to normal pressure; polymerizing said prepolymer at a temperature of 240.degree. to 350.degree. C. in a lateral, bi-axial, self-cleaning reactor to obtain an aromatic polycarbonate resin having a viscosity average molecular weight of 15,000 to 60,000.

Abstract: Synthetic quartz glass powder is produced by (a) hydrolyzing an alkoxysilane to form a gel, (b) finely dividing the gel and then drying, or drying the gel and then finely dividing, and (c) calcining the obtained powder, the powder being maintained under an atmosphere with an oxygen concentration of not less than 30 vol % during at least a part of the calcining period at a temperature of not lower than 1,000.degree. Abstract: A composition for forming anti-reflection film on resist surface which comprises an aqueous solution of a water soluble fluorine compound, and a pattern formation method which comprises the steps of coating a photoresist composition on a substrate; coating the above-mentioned composition for forming anti-reflection film; exposing the coated film to form a specific pattern; and developing the photoresist, are provided. Since the composition for forming anti-reflection film can be coated on the photoresist in the form of an aqueous solution, not only the anti-reflection film can be formed easily, but also, the film can be removed easily by rinsing with water or alkali development. Therefore, by the pattern formation method according to the present invention, it is possible to form a pattern easily with a high dimensional accuracy.

Abstract: A dental gypsum composition is disclosed, comprising (A) 100 parts by weight of calcined gypsum, (B) from 0.005 to 5.0 parts by weight of an alkali metal tartrate, (C) from 0.1 to 5.0 parts by weight of a sugar alcohol, and (D) from 0.005 to 3.0 parts by weight of a retarder.
