Patent number: 5257194Abstract: A highway traffic control method is shown in which the control method (80) and phasing scheme (82) are defined and recall switches are set (84) every cycle of operation. In time-of-day control methods (FIGS. 14 and 15) timing parameters (86) also are defined every cycle, and common cycle length and planned offset are computed (90) at the local master controller (16). Offset deviation is measured (94) and used along with the computed cycle length for adjustment of the local signal timing (96). Following execution of signal control, the control method, phasing scheme and timing parameters are defined and recall switches set in preparation for the next cycle of operation. In the traffic-responsive method, traffic data from local detectors are obtained and processed (100) and, using this data, signal timing parameters are computed using linear programming (102). In the traffic-adaptive method (FIG.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1991Date of Patent: October 26, 1993Assignee: Mitsubishi CorporationInventor: Masami Sakita

Patent number: 4965027Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a method of molding inorganic powders, primarily ceramic powders, in which a binder fluid having a specific freezing point, typically water, is added to the powder to be molded to form a mixture, after which a mold having the desired cavity is filled with the said mixture. The mixture is then pressure molded and rapidly cooled, freezing the binder fluid to produce a frozen molded shape, which is then dried to remove the binder fluid and sintered. The amount of the binder fluid of specific freezing point to be added to the said inorganic powder is the minimum amount that will satisfy the dual demands of flowability during molding and shape retention after the removal of the binder fluid, with from 25 to 50 vol % generally being appropriate. Holding is achieved by injection molding, compression molding or other technique in which pressure is applied to the material in the mold.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1988Date of Patent: October 23, 1990Assignee: Mitsubishi CorporationInventor: Nobuyuki Takahashi

Patent number: 4511588Abstract: Preservable granular particulate "tofu" (soybean curd), which is smooth and does not liberate water during storage and therefor is suited to an alternative for salad topping, tofu spread and scrambled egg, can be produced by coagulating soybean milk or soybean protein paste in heated oil at a temperature between above 75.degree. C. and below 140.degree. C. The soybean milk is of a higher concentration than that conventionally used for producing ordinary tofu. Hardening of the granular tofu which is caused with increased solid contents can be overcome by elevating the pH of the paste as compared with that used in production of ordinary tofu. A small amount of egg white is desirably added to coagulate the soybean milk smoothly in a shorter period of time in heated oil. The granular tofu thus prepared is preservable and does not liberate water during storage, because the coagulation is done at a higher temperature than in the case of ordinary tofu, and the surface of granule is covered with an oily film.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1983Date of Patent: April 16, 1985Assignees: Asahi-Matsu Foods Inc., Mitsubishi CorporationInventors: Shiro Kudo, Mitsuyoshi Hayashi
