Patent number: 4726732Abstract: A conveying apparatus for an industrial robot in which a first arcuate rail is fixed to a ceiling and extends parallel to a turning locus of a robot arm suspended form a ceiling surface. A second linear rail is attached to the first rail and is rotatable therearound while maintaining an orientation normal to the first rail. A gripper mounted on a forward end portion of the robot arm is suspended by a balancer from the second rail, or alternatively by a first link having one end rotatably fixed to the ceiling and connected at its other end to one end of a second link with the gripper suspended by a wire from a balancer mounted on the other end of the second link. With this arrangement, not only is the vertical load due to objects conveyed by the robot reduced, but the horizontal load due to the same is also reduced, even in a horizontal conveying operation.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 1986Date of Patent: February 23, 1988Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Hisao Kato

Patent number: 4726859Abstract: An inexpensive, very fine wire of high-purity copper is disclosed as an alternative to the fine gold wire which is currently used in the bonding of semiconductor devices. The very fine wire of high-purity copper is prepared from a copper ingot that contains 0-2 ppm of S, 0-2 ppm of Ag, 0-1 ppm of Se and 0-1 ppm of Te as incidental impurities with the total content of these and any other incidental impurities present being held at a level not exceeding 10 ppm. By subjecting it to an appropriate heat treatment, the wire acquires an elongation of 5-22%, a breaking strength of 14-33 kg/mm.sup.2, and a Vickers hardness of 38-50, the latter value being measured with respect to said high-purity copper in an ingot form.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1986Date of Patent: February 23, 1988Assignees: Mitsubishi Kinzoku Kabushiki Kaisha, Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Naoyuki Hosoda, Naoki Uchiyama, Toshiaki Ono, Ryusuke Kawanaka

Patent number: 4727038Abstract: A method of fabricating a MOS field effect semiconductor device having an LDD structure is described in which an insulating film is formed on a gate electrode and a layer of polycrystalline silicon, oxide, high melting point metal or a silicide of a high melting point metal is formed on a wafer and etched away by unisotropic RIE, except a portion thereof on a sidewall of the gate. With the resulting structure, degradation of the transconductance of the device due to injection of hot carriers is prevented. Also, the size of the device can be minimized without unduly increasing the resistances of the drain/source region, the gate electrode, and the contacts of the device.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 1985Date of Patent: February 23, 1988Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Kiyoto Watabe, Satoru Kamoto

Patent number: 4727531Abstract: An optical data recording system has real time error checking by sensing the level of reflected radiation from the high energy level pulse used to form a spot on a disc, and then comparing the sensed level with a reference signal to thus sense a recording failure or defect in the disc. The sensed signal may be voltage shifted by passing through a coupling capacitance with the output discharged during an initial portion of the recording. Additionally, the reference signal may be derived from the sensed signal by passing through a second capacitive coupling circuit whose output is clamped to zero during a standby mode, the reference output being inverted and reduced by a fixed ratio to provide a proper reference voltage.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 1985Date of Patent: February 23, 1988Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Osamu Ito, Isao Watanabe
