Abstract: A fibrous anisotropic permanent magnet is disclosed comprising fibers composed of an alloy comprising at least one of a rare earth metal selected from Nd, Pr, Dy, Ho, Tb, La, and Ce; Fe or Fe and Co; and B, said fibers having a mean diameter of from 50 to 1,000 .mu.m and exhibiting magnetic anisotropy. The fibrous anisotropy permanent magnet is prepared by extruding a molten alloy comprising at least one of Nd, Pr, Dy, Ho, Tb, La, and Ce; Fe or Fe and Co; and B in an oil to quench-solidify the molten alloy into a fibrous form.Since the fibrous magnet exhibits excellent anisotropic magnetic characteristics in the lengthwise direction of the fiber axis in the quench-solidified state, the magnet is particularly useful as a magnetic powder material for an anisotropic bond magnet.
Abstract: A method for producing a cyclic alkyleneimine, which comprises reacting a cyclic ether with a compound of the formula NH.sub.2 R wherein R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, in a vapor phase in the presence of a solid acid catalyst, wherein the reaction is conducted under a pressure of at least 0.5 kg/cm.sup.2 G as the total pressure of partial pressures of the reactants and the reaction product.
Abstract: An electrophotographic photoreceptor having an electrically conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer formed thereon, the photosensitive layer comprising a charge-generating agent, an organic charge-transporting agent and an anti-oxidant having the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently alkyl groups, is disclosed herein. The electrophotographic photoreceptor according to this invention has an improved durability in repeated copying operations and therefore a prolonged life.
Abstract: A process for producing a liquefied coal oil by a two step hydrogenation reaction of coal, which comprises subjecting coal to a first hydrogenation and subjecting at least a part of the reaction product of the first hydrogenation to a second hydrogenation, wherein the second hydrogenation is conducted in the presence of an alkali metal compound and/or an alkaline earth metal compound and a catalyst carrying a metal of Group VI-A and a metal of Group VIII of the Periodic Table.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a process for producing an azo group-containing polymer comprising polycondensing a compound having an azo group in the main molecular chain and an alcoholic hydroxyl group, phenolic hydroxyl group, imino group or amino group at both ends thereof with a dicarboxylic acid chloride or a carbonate precursor except the polycondensation of a compound having an azo group in the main molecular chain and an alcoholic hydroxyl group at both ends thereof with a carbonate precursor.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of manufacturing inulotriose and/or inulotetrose by using an exo-type hydrolase capable of hydrolyzing a fructan only every 3 or 4 sugar units from a terminal fructose thereof, so as to produce inulotriose and/or inulotetrose, and of recovering the inulotriose and/or inulotetrose. The enzyme is produced by Streptomyces sp. MCI 2423 (FERM BP-2678) and Aureobacterium sp. MCI 2494 (FERM BP-2679).
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an electrophotographic photoreceptor having on a conductive base at least one charge generation layer and at least one charge transport layer, said charge transport layer having the thickness of 27 .mu.m or above and being formed with a coating solution containing a condensation polymer of the viscosity-average molecular weight of 15,000 to 25,000 as a binder resin according to the dip coating method. The electrophotographic photoreceptor according to the present invention has the excellent durability because the resultant charge transport layer has the increased and uniform thickness without changing the electric properties, especially the charged potential.

Abstract: A composite separating agent which comprises a hydrophilic polymer separating agent showing a degree of swelling in water of 10 to 100 ml/g-dry and having a giant network structure incorporated within pores of an organic polymer substrate showing a degree of swelling in water of 20 ml/g-dry or below and a degree of crosslinking of 4% to 100% by mol and having a porous structure as well as a process for producing the same are disclosed.When packed within a column, this composite separating agent having a high mechanical strength is hardly compacted and exhibits an excellent separation performance. Thus it is highly useful in chromatographic separation of biopolymers including proteins.

Abstract: An aromatic polyimide separation membrane prepared by subjecting an aromatic polyimide membrane to fluorine treatment with an active fluorine is described. The aromatic polyimide separation membrane according to the present invention has an extremely high selectivity and gas permeability, and therefore, is useful as a membrane for separation of gas mixtures or liquid mixtures.
