  • Patent number: 9138910
Abstract: A tip 14 is rotatably attached to a tip holder 10. The tip holder 10 is made into a cylindrical shape and its end has an installation part 16. An opening is arranged at a holder joint. The tip holder 10 is attracted by a magnet for attachment so that detaching and attaching can be performed easily. Tip offset data is recorded as a 2-dimensional code 17 on the surface of the tip holder 10. When replacing the tip holder, the offset data is read out and inputted to a scribe device, thereby canceling the offset. This eliminates the operation required for correction when attaching/detaching the tip holder and enables easy tip replacement during a short time of device stop.

  • Patent number: 8899459
Abstract: In a breaking operation, a substrate is moved so that a blade can be situated in line with a scribe line, and the blade is lowered to break the substrate. After the breaking, the blade is raised. Then, the substrate is moved along its surface while taking an image of the substrate by using a camera after the breaking. Moreover, the blade is lowered to break the substrate. After the breaking, the blade is raised. Then, the substrate is moved along its surface while performing image processing concurrently. After the movement of the substrate, the position of the substrate is corrected so that the following scribe line to be cut for breaking can be situated immediately below the blade. In this way, the time required for breaking the substrate formed with a multiplicity of scribe lines into pieces can be shortened.

Abstract: A processing device is configured to irradiate a laser beam onto a glass substrate for processing. The processing device has a work table, a laser beam output section, a multi-spot focus section, a rotation drive mechanism, an optical system, and a laser beam scan section. The multi-spot focus section receives a laser beam, and splits and focuses the laser beam inputted therein into a plurality of beam focus spots. The rotation drive mechanism rotates the plurality of beam focus spots about a single center axis that is arranged in a center of the plurality of beam focus spots. The optical system guides the laser beam to the multi-spot focus section. The laser beam scan section moves all the plurality of beam focus spots rotating about the single center axis in a desired direction within a predetermined range of a plane arranged along a surface of the glass substrate.
