Abstract: This negative electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries contains a silicon solid solution in which one or more elements selected from among group 3 semimetal elements and metal elements, group 4 semimetal elements and metal elements (excluding silicon) and group 5 non-metallic elements and semimetal elements are solid-solved in silicon. The elements solid-solved in silicon are present more at the crystal grain boundaries than in the inner portions of the crystal grains in the silicon solid solution.

Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide an agricultural covering material which has a high light transmittance so that it accelerates the growth of crops and has visual confirmation properties to the inside thereof for cultivators, which has a good growth acceleration effect due to heat retention of soil temperature, can suppress ingress of excess amounts of rainwater, has excellent evenness such as a low unevenness in strength and effective prevention of harmful insects which will fly and gather, and which has proper air-permeability. The agricultural covering material of the present invention includes a nonwoven fabric laminate having (i) a light transmittance of 80% or more, (ii) an air-permeability of 50 to 400 cm3/cm2/sec and (iii) a basis weight of 10 to 30 g/cm2.
Abstract: A transformant is prepared to insert at least a gene expression cassette comprising a gene involved in the synthesis of 2-deoxy-scyllo-inosose into E. coli as host cells. A 2-deoxy-scyllo-inosose is synthesized from D-glucose, oligosaccharide, polysaccharide, starch and rice bran, using the transformant. A culture solution containing the 2-deoxy-scyllo-inosose is treated with a mixed bed or double bed type column comprising a hydrogen form of strong acidic cation exchange resin and an organic ion form of basic anion exchange resin. The 2-deoxy-scyllo-inosose as purified is reacted with trimethoxymethane to convert into 2-deoxy-scyllo-inosose dimethylketal, and the dimethylketal is crystallized and purified. Then, DOI is highly purified through hydrolyzing the dimethylketal in the presence of acid.

Abstract: A latch apparatus brings a latch which is accommodated rotationally movably in a case made up of a base plate and a cover plate into engagement with a striker which enters an entrance groove in the case. A fastening member which fastens the case to a mount member so as to move relative to the striker is provided within a range defined by projecting an area which has a radius centering at the striker onto the case, the radius being equal to a distance to an outermost position of the latch which is in engagement with the striker.

Abstract: There is provided an adhesive resin composition suitable for a multilayer structure which retains sufficient adhesive strength even when in contact with gasoline or light gas oil, and has excellent long-term durability and durability in high-temperature fuels and excellent adhesive strength at high temperature. The adhesive resin composition of the invention includes a modified ethylene polymer (A1) which is graft-modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof and which has a density of 930 to 980 kg/m3, and an unmodified ethylene polymer (A2) having a density of 910 to 929 kg/m3, wherein the adhesive resin composition has a melt flow rate (MFR) [ASTM D 1238 (temperature: 190° C., 2160 g load)] of 0.1 to 3 g/10 min and a density of 920 to 930 kg/m3 and has an elution amount of 60 wt % or less at 85° C. or lower as determined by cross-fractionation chromatography. The present invention also relates to a multilayer structure formed by using the adhesion resin composition.

The upper die (37) has resin reservoir pots (50) provided above the laminated rotor core (36) and at positions corresponding to the respective magnet insertion holes (46). Raw resin material put in the resin reservoir pots (50) is heated by the upper die (37). Subsequently, the resin material in a liquefied state is ejected from the resin reservoir pots (50) by plungers (52) that are inserted and moves vertically in the resin reservoir pots (50) and is directly filled in the magnet insertion holes (46). Consequently, the respective magnet insertion holes (46) are filled with the resin material more evenly and highly reliable products can be supplied at low cost.
Abstract: A solid titanium catalyst component (I) comprising titanium, magnesium, halogen, a specific cyclic ester compound (a) and a specific cyclic ester compound (b), an olefin polymerization catalyst containing this catalyst component (I), and an olefin polymerization process using this olefin polymerization catalyst are disclosed.
