Abstract: Provided is a shaped article for clean rooms comprising a resin composition prepared by melt-kneading 100 parts by weight of a cyclic olefin polymer (A) having a glass transition temperature of from 60 to 200° C., from 1 to 150 parts by weight of a flexible copolymer (B) prepared by polymerizing at least two monomers selected from a group consisting of olefins, dienes and aromatic vinyl-hydrocarbons, and having a glass transition temperature of 0° C. or lower, from 0.001 to 1 part by weight of a radical initiator (C), and from 0 to 1 part by weight of a polyfunctional compound (D) having at least two radical-polymerizable functional groups in the molecule. The shaped article for clean rooms has good chemical resistance, heat resistance and dimensional accuracy, it is inhibited from releasing a volatile component around it, and it has good abrasion resistance and is inhibited from producing particles.
Abstract: Provided are a carrier for electrophotography developers prepared by generating a slight amount of byproducts such as water, alcohol, etc, which carrier is free from release of a magnetic powder, has excellent mechanical strength and durability, and good environmental stability, and further can restrain occurrence of toner spent condition and has favorable fluidity and excellent capability of imparting charging to a toner, a two-component developer comprising the carrier and a method for forming an image using the developer. The carrier for electrophotography developers comprises a magnetic powder dispersed binder resin, the binder resin material comprises (A) a polysiloxane compound having an epoxy group as a functional group and (B) a polysiloxane compound having a group capable of ring-opening addition reaction with the epoxy group of the polysiloxane compound (A), and the binder resin is a silicone resin prepared by curing with ring-opening addition reaction of the epoxy resin.
Abstract: A black composite oxide particle includes a composite oxide having Fe, Mg and Al as metal components. The particle contains Fe, Mg and Al in amounts of 30 to 55 mass %, 1 to 10 mass %, and 1 to 10 mass %, respectively, and has an atomic ratio of Fe3+/Fe2+ of 0.8 to 10. Also described is a method for producing the black composite oxide particle. In an embodiment, the particle includes a hydrated composite oxide represented by an empirical formula: Fe2+aFe3+bMgcAldOe·nH2O. The black composite oxide particle is suitable as a black pigment for a coating material, an ink, toner particles, a rubber and a plastic, and is reduced with respect to the load on the environment and excellent in blackness.

Abstract: A solvent dispersion of a composite resin which comprises a solvent and a composite resin comprising a thermoplastic elastomer (A) and a polymer of copolymerizable monomers (B) comprising a monomer having an ?,?-monoethylenically unsaturated group and other copolymerizable monomer(s), wherein the thermoplastic elastomer (A) is a propylene-based elastomer having a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of not more than 3 as measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), and the copolymerizable monomers (B) include at least one monomer containing no functional groups; and uses of the dispersion. The dispersion can be used to provide a coating material, primer, adhesive, additive, binder, film, and primer for strippable paints and traffic paints, which have excellent adhesiveness to various materials.
Abstract: A novel olefin-based polymer has excellent thermal resistance, as well as excellent balance among various properties. The olefin-based polymer is an olefin-based polymer comprising 50 to 100% by weight of a constituent unit derived from 4-methyl-1-pentene, and 0 to 50% by weight of a constituent unit derived from at least one olefin selected from olefins having 2 to 20 carbon atoms except 4-methyl-1-pentene, and having the following properties: i) the diad isotacticity is 70% or greater, ii) the ratio (Mw/Mn) of the weight average molecular weight (Mw) to the number average molecular weight (Mn) as measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) is in the range of 1.0 to 3.5, and iii) the intrinsic viscosity [?] is 0.5 (dl/g) or greater.

Abstract: A surface of copper foil wound onto a guide roller 26 is irradiated with light. Specular light from the copper foil surface is received by CCD cameras 14a, and scattered light from the copper foil surface is received by CCD cameras 14b. When, in a region in which the amount of specular light received by the CCD cameras 14a is equal to or larger than a first threshold, a portion having a luminance equal to or larger than a second threshold is present, and when the amount of scattered light received by the CCD cameras 14b is smaller than a luminance average, that region is determined to be a defective copper portion.

Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide a surface treated copper foil and the like, which ensure practically sufficient adhesion when a copper foil having no roughening treatment applied hereto is bonded with a polyimide resin substrate and which have no slip-in of plated tin. To attain the object, there is employed a surface treated copper foil for a polyimide resin substrate characterized by being an electro-deposited copper foil having a surface treatment layer for improving adhesion to the polyimide resin substrate on a shiny surface side, in which, the surface treatment layer is a nickel-zinc alloy layer or a cobalt-zinc alloy layer containing nickel or cobalt in an amount of 65 wt % to 90 wt % and zinc in an amount of 10 wt % to 35 wt % except for inevitable impurities and having a weight thickness of 30 mg/m2 to 70 mg/m2.
Abstract: A thermal sensor in which, when an object to be measured is a water-based liquid, attachment of air bubbles to the external surface of the sensor is reduced to improve measurement accuracy. The thermal sensor has a sensing element (21a) including a heat producing body and a temperature sensing body, a resin mold (23) for sealing the sensing element (21a), and a heat transmission member (21c) for transmitting heat between the sensing element (21a) and a water-based object to be measured. A part of the heat transmission member (21c) is exposed from the resin mold (23) to form an exposed surface section. A hydrophilic film (50) formed of a silicon oxide film is applied to the exposed surface section and to that part of the surface of the resin mold which is positioned around the exposed surface section.

Abstract: Provided is a process for efficiently producing a molded product with an improved moldability in blow molding and no deterioration of the physical properties of the molded product.
