Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and providing multiple, independent 3D objects in an augmented reality (AR) environment are described. One aspect of some embodiments relate to an augmented reality technology activation platform that enables the creation of interactive message 3D objects (e.g., static images, animations, product information and offers, etc.) and product 3D objects (e.g., product images, descriptions, etc.). These two types of 3D objects can be displayed at a user device so that customized, interactive messages associated with the product are displayed with the product, where the interactive messages are rendered (e.g., as a 3D object) along with the product 3D object in the same scene (e.g., as opposed to being layered on top of the 3D environment or augmented reality image).

  • Patent number: 11800381
Abstract: Techniques for optimal device position for wireless communication are described, and may be implemented via a mobile device to identify an orientation in which to place a mobile device to achieve optimum wireless signal. Generally, the described techniques enable the mobile device to be dynamically calibrated for wireless communication by identifying signal attributes at multiple different device positions, and enabling the mobile device to be placed at a position that exhibits optimum wireless signal. Further, wireless tasks to be performed on a mobile device can be placed into a task queue and executed when the mobile device is detected at a location and/or position that exhibits optimum wireless signal.

  • Patent number: 11799926
Abstract: A conferencing system terminal device includes an image capture device capturing images of a subject during a videoconference occurring across a network and a communication device transmitting the images to at least one remote electronic device engaged in the videoconference. One or more processors apply a virtual background or virtual background indicia in the images behind depictions of the subject. In response to one or more sensors detecting initiation of a demonstration operation by the subject, the one or more processors cause the virtual background or virtual background indicia to appear behind depictions of a demonstration object of the demonstration operation such that the demonstration object is visible against the virtual background indicia or virtual background.

  • Patent number: 11798316
Abstract: An electronic device includes a memory storing a plurality of fingerprint reference data files and one or more sensors identifying whether a mechanical support condition of the electronic device is a hand supported condition or a surface supported condition. A fingerprint sensor receives fingerprint data while the electronic device is in the mechanical support condition. One or more processors select a prioritized fingerprint data reference file from the plurality of fingerprint reference data files as a function of the mechanical support condition and authenticate an authorized user of the electronic device by comparing the fingerprint data to the prioritized fingerprint data reference file before comparing the fingerprint data to any other fingerprint reference data files of the plurality of fingerprint reference data files. The prioritized fingerprint reference data file can also be selected as a function of a geometric form factor of the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 11796413
Abstract: A communication device, method and computer program product enable reduced polling of a barometric sensor, which reduces power consumption and sensor calibration drift. A controller of a communication device determines at least one of received signal strength and direction of respective broadcast signals from local network node(s) positioned within a building to provide a local coverage area. The controller determines a location of the communication device in relation to the local network nodes in response to determining the received signal strength and/or the direction of the respective broadcast signals. The controller determines current altitude data related to a current barometer reading of the barometric sensor. The controller compares the current and the historical altitude data associated with past reading(s) at the location.

  • Patent number: 11797050
Abstract: An electronic device includes a first device housing and a second device housing that is slidable along the first device housing. The electronic device includes a flexible display and a slider framework fixedly coupled to the first device housing. A display mover slidably couples the flexible display to the slider framework, while a housing mover slidably couples the second device housing to the slider framework. An actuator coupled between the display mover and the housing mover causes the display mover and the housing mover to slide symmetrically in opposite directions along the slider framework when the second device housing slides relative to the first device housing between a closed position and an open position.

  • Patent number: 11784834
Abstract: To ensure that an electronic device is a secure electronic device, a communication device transmits a request to authenticate the electronic device to a remote electronic device across a network. The communication device receives a security challenge. One or more processors of the electronic device obtain a response to the security challenge using a secret key stored in an encrypted memory of the electronic device. The communication device then transmits the response to the response to the security challenge to the remote electronic device. If the remote electronic device recognizes the response, it transmits a shared secret content marker, which can optionally be presented at a user interface of the electronic device. The request can be automatically initiated by a companion electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20230316257
Abstract: The present invention comprises a method of managing car wash membership programs that uses unique vehicle identifiers that can be read directly from a vehicle's onboard computer. This method works with vehicles that possess an onboard computer (i.e., “connected cars”) that collects data on the vehicle itself (e.g. vehicle identification number (VIN), oil life, fuel level) and exposes an interface that makes it possible for external systems to request and read this data. An example scenario utilizing this method involves a customer who installs a software application (app) for the car wash on their smartphone. The customer then selects their desired subscription car wash package within the app and the app initiates a communication link directly with the vehicle that will be associated with this membership account.
