Abstract: Various embodiments of the present technology generally relate to data delivery. More specifically, some embodiments of the present technology relate to systems and methods for using spatial and temporal analysis to associate data sources with mobile devices. The delivery of data to support a wide variety of services for and about mobile devices that are based on data stored in corporate, commercial, and government databases which is not currently linked to individual mobile devices. Some embodiments allow advertisers to better target their ads to relevant target audiences with greater accuracy.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product are described for delivering smart services. According to an exemplary embodiment, a method for delivering smart services includes defining a situation including subscriber context information based on private information of a service subscriber. The method includes identifying an action associated with the first situation. The method includes determining that the service subscriber is in the defined situation based on current subscriber context information. The method includes performing, in response to determining that the service subscriber is in the defined situation, the action.

Abstract: A method utilizing real-time location information in a fleet management system. Simultaneous wireless communication connections are maintained between a respectively corresponding number of vehicles in a fleet and a central control center. The messages are received at the central control center, and each one of the messages includes information indicating the geographic location of a respectively corresponding vehicle in real-time or near real-time. The messages are collected and stored in the central control center. In response to a user request, a fleet management tool or report is provided in real-time or near real-time, the management tool or report being based at least in part on the messages indicating the geographic location of the vehicles.

Abstract: Associating a network packet with biometric information for a user includes identifying biometric identification information for a user of a network device, including an identifier of the biometric identification information in at least one of a header and a trailer of a network packet without including biometric identification information in a payload of the network packet, and sending the packet via a network, wherein the identifier identifies the network packet as having originated from the user.

Abstract: A method for providing a contextual description of an object includes receiving a first object associated with a user. The first object has a first object type representing one of a place, an event, and a person and includes a first attribute associated with the respective place, event, or person. A second object is identified that has a second attribute related to the first attribute, and has a second object type representing one of a place, an event, and a person. According to an exemplary embodiment, a first pre-defined phrase template corresponding to the first object type is dynamically combined with a second pre-defined phrase template corresponding to the second object type to form a linguistic prompt related to the place, event, or person representing the first object. The linguistic prompt is then presented to the user to describe the place, event, or person representing the first object.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for automatically generating metadata for a digital image based on meteorological conditions. Aspects of the preferred embodiment include determining a plurality of meteorological conditions associated with a location of a subject of the digital image captured with a mobile image capture device even when the device is at a different location of the location of the subject of the digital image, the plurality of meteorological conditions including variations of the conditions over time by receiving indications of the conditions at a plurality of times including at least one of a time before the time of image capture, at the time of image capture, and after the time of image capture; aggregating the indications of the meteorological conditions into at least one meteorological descriptor indicating a trend of the conditions based on user-definable aggregation rules; and associating the descriptor with the digital image as metadata.

The method also includes receiving, from the home network, a negative communication based on an indication that the mobile device is at least one of stolen and lost as a second portion of the transaction. The method still further includes ceasing a function of the mobile device in response to the negative acknowledgment.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing notification of a task includes a position component configured to determine user location information of a user of a mobile communication device, a communication component configured to provide the user location information to a communicatively coupled remote server for determining historical presence information based on at least one of a number of times a user is present at a location and an amount of time the user is present at the location, and a user interface configured to receive identification of task information including a task location and to present a notification of a task based on the historical presence information, the task location, and a current location of the user.

Abstract: A method for registering an electronic device includes receiving purchaser information including at least one of a name and an address associated with a purchaser. A transaction code associated with a purchase of an electronic device is received, wherein the transaction code does not uniquely identify the electronic device. Information identifying the electronic device is retrieved based on the transaction code. The electronic device is registered by associating the purchaser information with the information identifying the electronic device.

Abstract: A method for providing a descriptor of a location to a recipient includes receiving location data of the location from a user and using the location data to identify a plurality of regions near or including the location. Each region is associated with a descriptor. The recipient's level of familiarity with each of the regions is determined and at least one region is selected based on the recipient's level of familiarity with the at least one selected region. Once the at least one region is selected, for each of the at least one selected region, the descriptor associated with the selected region is provided to the recipient via the user.

Abstract: Through an interface of a platform, promotional offers are provided from merchants. Each promotional offer pertains to a rebate, purchase credit, reward, price discount, or other consumer offering. Association information is also automatically obtained from a social network application to identify for a first user which other platform users are members of the first user's social group. Each other user is a member of the first user's social group through the social network application, independently of use of such promotional offers. A first promotional offer is provided by the platform from a first merchant to a client device of the first user. The first promotional offer is provided or the rebate amount, purchase credit amount, reward, price discount amount, or other consumer offering of the provided first promotional offer is determined, selected or applied, based on a measure of a purchasing or platform usage activity of the other users.

Abstract: A mobile communication device for identifying a location to be named comprising a position locator component configured to determine a location of a user and a communication interface component configured to provide the location for use in determining user-specific location information including at least one of a number of times and an amount of time the user is present at or near the location. The location naming component is configured to receive an identification of the location as a location of interest. The location naming component is configured to provide a prompt for naming the location of interest for presentation by a graphical user interface component. The location naming component is configured to receive name information for naming the location. The graphical user interface component is configured to present the name information for the location of interest on the mobile communication device.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for automatically generating metadata for a digital image based on ambient conditions. Abstract: Credit card transactions are processed and managed for a fleet of motor vehicles for hire. A plurality of simultaneous wireless communication connections is maintained between a respective plurality of vehicles in the fleet and a central control center. A plurality of messages is received at the central control center, each one of said messages including credit card transaction information. For each vehicle, the messages and said credit card transaction information are stored in the central control center in real-time or near real-time. A credit card transaction reconciliation report can be produced at any time, in response to a user request, for a motor vehicle identified in the user request. The credit card transaction reconciliation report utilizes the messages and credit card transaction information collected and stored in the central control center.

Abstract: A system for naming a location includes a mobile communication device equipped with a position locator system that is configured to identify a location of the device, a first data store for storing general information that is managed by or for an entity other than the user and that is related to the location, a second data store for storing user-specific information that is managed by or for the user, and a name generation module. According to aspects of one embodiment, the name generation module is configured to receive the location of the mobile communication device, to retrieve from the first data store general information relating to the location, and to generate a name for the location based on an atemporal correlation between the general information and the user-specific information.

Abstract: A method for providing a descriptor of a location to a recipient includes receiving location data of the location from a user and using the location data to identify a plurality of regions near or including the location. Each region is associated with a descriptor. The recipient's level of familiarity with each of the regions is determined and a region is selected based on the recipient's level of familiarity with the selected region. Once the region is selected, the descriptor associated with the selected region is provided to the recipient via the user.
