Abstract: A method for providing a contextual description of an object includes receiving a first object associated with a user. The first object has a first object type representing one of a place, an event, and a person and includes a first attribute associated with the respective place, event, or person. A second object is identified that has a second attribute related to the first attribute, and has a second object type representing one of a place, an event, and a person. According to an exemplary embodiment, a first pre-defined phrase template corresponding to the first object type is dynamically combined with a second pre-defined phrase template corresponding to the second object type to form a linguistic prompt related to the place, event, or person representing the first object. The linguistic prompt is then presented to the user to describe the place, event, or person representing the first object.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for automatically generating metadata for a digital image based on meteorological conditions. Aspects of the preferred embodiment include determining a plurality of meteorological conditions associated with a location of a subject of the digital image captured with a mobile image capture device even when the device is at a different location of the location of the subject of the digital image, the plurality of meteorological conditions including variations of the conditions over time by receiving indications of the conditions at a plurality of times including at least one of a time before the time of image capture, at the time of image capture, and after the time of image capture; aggregating the indications of the meteorological conditions into at least one meteorological descriptor indicating a trend of the conditions based on user-definable aggregation rules; and associating the descriptor with the digital image as metadata.

Abstract: A method, system, and device for naming a location at which a user is present with a mobile communication device, including retrieving general information relating to the location, the general information managed by or for an entity other than the user; comparing the retrieved general information relating the location to user-specific information managed by or for the user; identifying an atemporal correlation between the retrieved general information and the user-specific information; generating at least one name for the location based on the atemporal correlation between the retrieved general information and the user-specific information providing the at least one name for the location for selection; and storing the name selected for the location from the at least one name.

Abstract: Associating a network packet with biometric information for a user includes identifying biometric identification information for a user of a network device, including an identifier of the biometric identification information in at least one of a header and a trailer of a network packet without including biometric identification information in a payload of the network packet, and sending the packet via a network, wherein the identifier identifies the network packet as having originated from the user.

Abstract: A method for device ownership security is disclosed. The method includes storing an ownership record on a mobile device identifying a home network for the mobile device. The method further includes connecting, by the mobile device, to a foreign network. The method also includes receiving, from the home network, a negative communication based on an indication that the mobile device is at least one of stolen and lost as a second portion of the transaction. The method still further includes ceasing a function of the mobile device in response to the negative acknowledgment.

Abstract: Establishing communication with a device includes detecting, at a first device, a physical interaction between the first device and a second device; at least one of obtaining at the first device and providing to the second device, a network address usable for establishing communication between the first device and the second device, the network address identified based on information associated with the detected physical interaction; and automatically wirelessly transferring content using the network address, wherein transferring content includes at least one of receiving content at the first device from the second device and providing content from the first device to the second device.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing notification of a task includes a position component configured to determine user location information of a user of a mobile communication device, a communication component configured to provide the user location information to a communicatively coupled remote server for determining historical presence information based on at least one of a number of times a user is present at a location and an amount of time the user is present at the location, and a user interface configured to receive identification of task information including a task location and to present a notification of a task based on the historical presence information, the task location, and a current location of the user.

Abstract: A method for registering an electronic device includes receiving purchaser information including at least one of a name and an address associated with a purchaser. A transaction code associated with a purchase of an electronic device is received, wherein the transaction code does not uniquely identify the electronic device. Information identifying the electronic device is retrieved based on the transaction code. The electronic device is registered by associating the purchaser information with the information identifying the electronic device.

Abstract: A method for providing a descriptor of a location to a recipient includes receiving location data of the location from a user and using the location data to identify a plurality of regions near or including the location. Each region is associated with a descriptor. The recipient's level of familiarity with each of the regions is determined and at least one region is selected based on the recipient's level of familiarity with the at least one selected region. Once the at least one region is selected, for each of the at least one selected region, the descriptor associated with the selected region is provided to the recipient via the user.

A plurality of simultaneous wireless communication connections is maintained between a respective plurality of vehicles in the fleet and a central control center. For each vehicle, the messages and said credit card transaction information are stored in the central control center in real-time or near real-time. A credit card transaction reconciliation report can be produced at any time, in response to a user request, for a motor vehicle identified in the user request.
