Abstract: An assembly for mounting a barbecue grill and a cooking related device such as an additional grill, burner or table top, to a support structure such as a post or cart. The mounting device is especially suitable for gas barbecue grills and allows for various size grill units to be combined whether the two units are of the same size or different sizes. In one embodiment, only a single grill is utilized, and the area adjacent the grill is used as a working surface. In another embodiment, a single grill unit is employed, and the support surface adjacent the grill has an auxiliary burner. The mounting assembly is fabricated from few parts and permits ease of installation.

Abstract: A dual purpose cooking grid for use with a barbecue grill which has one side for cooking large pieces of food and an opposite side for cooking smaller ones. The grid provides for adequate flow of fats and juices to the heat source by providing grooves in a flat surface for cooking the small pieces of food which grooves direct some of the fats and juices to the source of heat. The grid is easily manufactured and has an aesthetic look.

Abstract: A dimmer device for a gas light which is solar activated and is composed of a minimum number of parts. A magnetically operated valve with a magnetically attractable ball is energized during daylight hours to close off one passageway yet allows gas to flow through a second passageway at a lower flow rate to provide a dimmer condition for the lamp. At night time, the magnetic valve is deactivated causing the magnetically attractable ball to open the otherwise closed passageway and thereby allow full gas flow to the lamp. The dimmer device is easily installed into the lamp housing rather than the post.

Abstract: A gas venturi tube assembly for a barbecue grill which can be utilized in a wide variety of gas barbecue grill burner elements and base portions. A venturi tube and gas intake member telescope together for retentive adjustment. There are internal adjustable securing mechanisms provided between the venturi tube and the gas intake member so that communication between the gas supply and the burner element can be made irrespective of the placement of the burner element on the floor of the barbecue grill base and the distance from the gas supply. The internal adjustable securing mechanisms include an internal cavity in the gas intake member and a biased member extending from the venturi tube for placement in the internal cavity. In a preferred manner, the internal cavity is provided by a corrugated flexible section in the gas intake member, and the biased member is provided by a spring member extending through a wall of the venturi tube.

Abstract: A portable barbecue grill apparatus wherein the source of heat is a solidified or semisolidified fuel of the alcohol or hydrocarbon type. The barbecue grill apparatus has the usual cover and base number as well as the non-combustible rocks suitably supported between the burner and the cooking grid. Instead of the usual gas burner or grate for charcoal there is provided control mechanisms for adjusting the rate of combustion for the solidified or semisolidified fuel.

Abstract: A device for directing heat from a heat source in a barbecue grill to food on a rotisserie. The heat directing device has a base portion for placement over a heat source and a hollow duct extending from the base portion which terminates in an opening directed at the rotisserie. In one embodiment, there are two oppositely positioned ducts to direct heat to both the front and back of the food to be cooked. In another embodiment, there are louvers in the base portion so as to allow some heat to escape the base portion and cook the food from the underside. The base portion and duct are adjustable in a lateral manner to fit various sizes of barbecue grill bases. The heat directing device is especially suited for a gas fired barbecue grill unit.

Abstract: A handle and timer assembly for a barbecue grill wherein the time that a cooking operation is taking place can be readily ascertained and is integrally mounted with a handle for opening the cover of the barbecue grill. The timing mechanism is preferably of a spring winding type and is mounted on the handle at a location spaced from the attachment to the grill. This not only affords a timing mechanism for cooking in conjunction with the grill wherein heat transfer to timing mechanism is kept to a minimum but also prevents the timing mechanism from being misplaced or inadvertently dropped as well as not being subjected to excessive heat.

Abstract: An adjustable gas intake assembly for a barbecue grill which can be utilized with various types of gas barbecue grill burners. A venturi tube and a supply tube are connected by a flexible section which will provide horizontal or vertical adjustment of the supply tube. In one embodiment the supply tube has a flexible section which will afford axial compression and expansion for vertical adjustment of the supply tube. In another embodiment the supply tube has a flexible section and a telescoping section is provided in the venturi portion or the supply tube portion. This telescoping section is represented by at least one separate tubular member communicating with the flexible section.

Abstract: An internal air regulator in a venturi tube assembly for use with a burner in a gas barbecue grill. The venturi tube assembly includes two telescoping tubes both with lateral openings. The tube which telescopes into the other has an internal air shutter for orientation with the lateral openings. This arrangement offers for added adjustment of the venturi assembly when it is placed between a control housing with a nozzle and a burner yet allows for air regulation. In a preferred embodiment, an attachment member extends from the tube with the air shutter to secure the venturi tube assembly to a gas nozzle.
