Abstract: A secure yet rotatable and readily releasable attachment is provided between a gas nozzle and a venturi tube for a burner in a barbecue grill. The attachment is effected such that once the attachment is made between the venturi tube and the gas nozzle it will not become detached during normal operation yet can be releasable for repair purposes. In one embodiment the attachment is provided in part by an attachment member which will be placed over the gas nozzle housing and provide a frictional engagement as well as a guide for an inwardly flanged portion of the air regulator section of the venturi tube. At the same time a rotatable engagement is afforded between the air regulator of the venturi tube and the attachment member.

Abstract: An adjustable gas intake assembly between the burner element and the gas inlet nozzle for a barbecue grill which can be utilized with various types of gas barbecue grill burners. A venturi tube portion and a supply tube portion are connected by threaded, flexible portions which will provide horizontal or vertical ajustment of the supply tube. The gas intake assembly can be utilized in conjunction with either a front control type barbecue grill unit or a post type. In one embodiment, a slidable tube member provides an additional telescoping section with the threaded, flexible portions.

Abstract: A slidable sight panel for a cooking unit wherein the panel member is slidably positioned in a guide track over an opening in a cover member with one of the panel sections spaced away from the opening and another panel orientated with the opening. One of the panel members is transparent so that when it is orientated with the opening in the grill the contents inside the grill cover can be inspected. The other panel is usually of a nontransparent material and covers the opening when it is not necessary to view the contents of the grill. In this manner, the transparent section is kept clean from the smoke and grease which usually accompany cooking in a barbecue grill unit. A light source is mounted outside the cooking unit for illuminating the interior thereof through a window unit.

Abstract: A gas burner assembly for a barbecue grill which can be utilized in a wide variety of gas barbecue grill base portions. The burner element is of a generally tubular construction with telescoping hollow body members extending from a central body member in opposing directions. A gas intake member is in fluid communication with the hollow tubular body member, and a plurality of apertures are distributed over the body members. In a preferred manner, the telescoping body members have adjustable screws for locating the telescoping body members in various positions from the central body member. Also preferably, the telescoping burner members also include adjustable leg members so as to firmly position the telescoping hollow body at various positions along the floor of the barbecue grill base.

Abstract: A dual adjustable gas intake assembly for a barbecue grill which can be utilized with various types of gas barbecue grill burners. The venturi tube and an intermediate supply tube telescope together as does the intermediate supply tube and the gas intake member of the burner. Adjustable securing mechanisms are provided between the intermediate supply tube, the intake member and the venturi tube. The adjustable securing mechanisms are preferably compression nuts positioned on the intake member and the venturi tube for engagement with threads on the intermediate supply tube. The dual adjustable intake assembly affords both horizontal and vertical adjustment between the gas supply and the burner.
