Abstract: A composite material (and its manufacture) is described that has (i) a first layer comprising an absorbent fiber material that is in contact with the area of use on its first side, (ii) a second layer comprising an absorbent material, said second layer being arranged on the second side of said first layer, wherein a plurality of channels extends through the entire first layer, from said first side to said second side thereof, and further extends into at least a portion of said second layer. This composite is of particular use in wound treatment.
Abstract: A medical dressing is described having a substrate with a first chemical compound, said substrate having a first surface, wherein said medical dressing further includes an adhesive layer having a skin-facing surface to adhere said medical dressing to a dermal surface, wherein at least a portion of said skin-facing surface has a coating with a second chemical compound. Also described is a method of manufacturing such a medical dressing.
Abstract: A medical dressing having a geometrical plane of symmetry. A border portion extends along the contour of the pad. A central portion of the dressing has a smaller width perpendicular to the plane of symmetry than the widths of the adjoining portions. The medical dressing comprises a gripping tab which is coplanar with the border portion and which projects outwardly from the border portion. The medical dressing may be used for pressure ulcer prevention, such as at a heel of a human body.

Abstract: A self-adhesive member for adhering to and covering a portion of a user's skin is disclosed. The self-adhesive member has a backing layer having a self-adhesive coating. The backing layer has a first and a second portion, where the first portion surrounds the second portion, and where the first portion has a first row of slits extending along an outer edge of the backing layer and being distanced a first distance therefrom and the second portion being either void of slits or being provided with fewer slits per area unit than the first portion.
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a wound dressing for a wound, specifically adapted for reducing the risk of disturbance of the wound when removing the wound dressing. The present disclosure also relates to a wound treatment method.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hydrophilic foam material, which is of particular use in wound treatment, and to a method for producing said hydrophilic foam material. The hydrophilic foam material has nucleating particles, wherein at least 85% of all foam cells in said foam material have an average cell size of 0.01 mm2 or less.

Abstract: The present invention refers to a composition, comprising hemoglobin or myoglobin, wherein in at least 40% of said hemoglobin or myoglobin the oxygen binding site is charged by a non-O2 ligand, and at least one further ingredient, a method for preparing said composition and the use of hemoglobin or myoglobin charged with a non-oxygen ligand for external treatment of wounds.
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a fluid container (100) for holding a fluid, specifically adapted for improved user handling by reducing the risk of fluid spillage in combination with easy extraction of the fluid comprised in the container (100). The fluid container (100) comprises a flap portion (110), which in its down-folded state allows for a predetermined amount of liquid to be stored in the container without the risk of leakage, and which flap-portion (110) in its up-folded state allows for easy extraction of fluid from the container (100). The present disclosure also relates to a fluid container system.
Abstract: A medical dressing is provided. The dressing has a central portion and a border portion, and comprises a backing layer, an adhesive body contact layer and a pad arranged in the central portion between the backing layer and the adhesive body contact layer. The pad is symmetric about a longitudinal center line and the dressing comprises a lobed portion on each side of the center line. The medical dressing comprises a gripping tab which is coplanar with the border portion and which projects outwardly from the border portion. The medical dressing may be used for pressure ulcer prevention, such as at the sacrum region of a human body.
