Abstract: A medical dressing, specifically adapted to comprise a machine-readable tag for allowing efficient and safe inspection during use of the medical dressing is described. A medical dressing arrangement and to a computer implemented inspection method applied in conjunction with the medical dressing is also described.
Abstract: Disclosed is a medical dressing having a pad and a border portion. The pad can have a rim and the border portion extends along said rim. The medical dressing can be arranged in a first substantially planar configuration and be folded along a first line, and a second portion of said medical dressing is formed and a second substantially cup-shaped configuration. The first portion can be facing and contacting said second portion. Said first substantially planar configuration the first and second portions can be connected by means of a fixed connection along a second line, which defines a second line segment having a first and a second end-point. The first and second line segments are connected at their respective first end-points such that an angle between 90 and 175 degrees is formed between the first and second line segments when the medical dressing is in the first substantially planar configuration.

Abstract: A composite material (and its manufacture) is described that has (i) a first layer comprising an absorbent fiber material that is in contact with the area of use on its first side, (ii) a second layer comprising an absorbent material, said second layer being arranged on the second side of said first layer, wherein a plurality of channels extends through the entire first layer, from said first side to said second side thereof, and further extends into at least a portion of said second layer. This composite is of particular use in wound treatment.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hydrophilic foam material, which is of particular use in wound treatment, and to a method for producing said hydrophilic foam material. The hydrophilic foam material has nucleating particles, wherein at least 85% of all foam cells in said foam material have an average cell size of 0.01 mm2 or less.

Abstract: A medical dressing is provided. The dressing has a central portion and a border portion, and comprises a backing layer, an adhesive body contact layer and a pad arranged in the central portion between the backing layer and the adhesive body contact layer. The pad is symmetric about a longitudinal center line and the dressing comprises a lobed portion on each side of the center line. The medical dressing comprises a gripping tab which is coplanar with the border portion and which projects outwardly from the border portion. The medical dressing may be used for pressure ulcer prevention, such as at the sacrum region of a human body.

Abstract: The invention relates to a wound care product, comprising a wound care article located in a sterilized sealed chamber defining a sterile environment. The wound care product also comprises an openable and reclosable container which has at least one outer surface portion in said sterile environment. The invention further relates to a method for using such a wound care product.
Abstract: A medical dressing (30) is disclosed, comprising an adhesive layer (3) having a skin-facing surface (6) to adhere the medical dressing to a dermal surface, wherein said adhesive layer comprises a first chemical compound incorporated within said adhesive layer, and wherein at least a portion of said skin-facing surface comprises a coating (9) comprising a second chemical compound. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing such a medical dressing.
Abstract: Wound pads and systems and kits comprising wound pads whose total thickness can be modified by a user without the use of tools, comprising a plurality of separable layers having layer thicknesses less than the thickness of the wound pad. The wound pads may be used as wound fillers in the context of negative pressure wound therapy (also known as “vacuum treatment”, “reduced pressure” treatment).
