The apparatus receives and routes IR signals either serially or in parallel to the system components through IR capable cables. The apparatus may be equipped with an RF to IR converter for an RF capable remote controller.

Abstract: An earphone having an acoustically transparent passage with a moveable cover for controlling the amount of ambient sound transmitted to a listener's ear canal. In the fully closed position, the cover prevents or restricts ambient sound from reaching the listener's ear canal. In an open position the cover allows entry of the ambient sound into the listener's ear canal, increasing the listener's safety during situations requiring awareness of external sounds, and allows participation in conversations and the like. Optionally, the cover exposes or hides and indicator to the onlooker when it is moved, allowing the onlooker to see the state of the device.

Abstract: This invention comprises an attachable in-ear hook to an earphone. The ear hook portion can attach to the earphone in a variety of ways, including through the use of snap features on the ear hooks in collaboration with a protrusion located on the earphone housing. Another attaching means can include where the housing is attached (permanently or not) to the ear hook and the housing is attachable/detachable to the body of the ear-phone. These attaching/detaching means allow for quick and easy installation and removal of the ear hook.

The devices status indicator system 101 comprises a hand held remote control device 109, device status indicator 104, 106, 107, and device 103, 111, 112. In the alternative, a smart control device 110 can be used with or without a hand held remote control device 109. When the device 103, 111, 112 is turned ON or OFF in the remote controlled system, the device status indicator 104, 106, 107 will send a signal 102, 105, 108 to the remote control device 109 and/or the smart control device 110. This signal 102, 105, 108 triggers information to be stored in the remote control device 109 and/or the smart control device 110 that indicates that the device 103, 111, 112 is in an ON or OFF state.
