Abstract: A wireless connection apparatus which scans radio frequency bands for local quiet unused, vacant, or unassigned frequencies which the apparatus can use, on a temporary basis, to establish a link for communicating between a portable multimedia device and a nearby RBDS/RDS configured receiver or source. The apparatus does not interfere with or utilize frequencies actively in use by an assigned user.
Abstract: A system and method for providing guidance to a user of a universal remote control is described. In some cases, a backlight color remote is provided to indicate the mode of operation of a universal remote control console. In some cases, the remote control console powers down a successfully connected new electronic device during a learning mode of the remote control.

Abstract: A single-phase apparatus and method for protecting for all AC power wires/lines and combinations thereof. The present invention prevents (1) the hazardous condition occurring at the wall receptacle, arising from accidental reversal of the line wire with the neutral wire, from adversely affecting at least one peripheral device in the line, and (2) the overheating and destruction of components in an over-voltage protection circuit by providing an efficient circuit configuration which assures a rapid simultaneous disconnect of both the hot line and neutral power lines.
Abstract: An ear tip comprised of two or more contiguous materials, in combination with sound conduit structure comprised of one or more rigid materials, wherein the ear tip mounts upon said sound conduit structure.
Abstract: A combination noise-filter, surge protections circuit and HDMI communication device. HDMI specific noise filters, surge protection circuits, PLC modem and encoding/decoding apparatus are connect to, or integrated into, power outlets in a home or other wired building enabling a high bandwidth powerline communication network.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting a signal to a remote location. The method splits the signal into a multitude of signals that are transmitted down cables. The split signals are collected into a single signal at the receiving end at the remote location. An apparatus for splitting the signals and collecting the split signals is illustrated.
