Abstract: A method and apparatus for a client to continue to receive updates from a server when a channel has been disconnected before the expiration of a heartbeat timer is disclosed. The method includes sending a heartbeat message from the client to the server wherein the heartbeat message is sent at the expiration of a timer having a first time interval that is less than the first timeout duration period of the server. The method includes detecting that the channel is disconnected before the expiration of the first time interval and then determining a second timeout duration period from detecting the channel is disconnected. After determining the second time out duration, the method includes resetting the first time interval to a second time interval for the sending of the heartbeat message wherein the second time interval being less than the second timeout duration period.

Abstract: An enhanced battery saving capacity device (200) and method (300) is disclosed. In its simplest form, the method (300) includes the steps of: detecting (310) an off state by detecting a load current below a threshold; and entering (320) a battery saver mode including a duty cycle test period, by: providing a periodic test signal; disconnecting a battery for a first interval of time; and reconnecting the battery for a second interval in synchronization with the periodic test signal, to determine whether the load current exceeds the threshold. The method (300) can reduce power drain when an electronic device is off or stored for an extended period of time. It can also extend the shelf life and minimize the possibility of damage to the life cycle of a battery, by lowering the possibility of severe discharge of a battery.

  • Publication number: 20130346494
Abstract: A method for sharing data between a local device and a target device includes scanning for a fallback peer-to-peer (P2P) network by the local device. When the scanning finds the fallback P2P network, the local device joins the P2P network in order to connect to a target device. The local device can also create a fallback P2P network when the scanning does not find said fallback P2P network. The local device searches for a target device, using a Bluetooth generic attribute (GATT) personal device profile (PDP) protocol; and is capable of sharing a data file between the local and target devices upon receiving an indication that the target device had connected to said fallback P2P network. In response to a triggering event, the local and target devices connect to the P2P network to thereby support file sharing.

  • Publication number: 20130315285
Abstract: A method and apparatus for compensating is described, in which a tuning network is electrically coupled to an antenna and to a phase shift network. Baseband signals travel to and from the phase shift network. A controller communicatively linked to the tuning network and to the phase shift network receives data regarding the state of a communication device. The controller changes the impedance of the tuning network, and changes the phase shift of the phase shift network based on the received data. The received data may include information regarding the channel, band, or sub-band on which a communication device is communicating; information regarding on the application state of the device; information regarding the modulator and demodulator state of the device; and information regarding the state of the communication device's antenna.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method determines software code created for an animation of a plurality of elements. The software code represents the plurality of elements in a first hierarchy. A plurality of layers are displayed on an interface to represent the plurality of elements. The plurality of layers are displayed in a second hierarchy on the interface corresponding to the first hierarchy. The method generates linking information to link the plurality of layers to the plurality of elements in the software code. When a change is detected in the second hierarchy for the plurality of layers on the interface, the method causes a corresponding change in the software code to change the first hierarchy for the plurality of elements based on the change in the second hierarchy for the plurality of layers where the corresponding change is performed using the linking information.
