  • Patent number: 11960540
Abstract: A process for tagging incident data captured by non-public-safety agency controlled cameras. In operation, an electronic computing device detects an occurrence of an incident and obtains an incident identifier associated with the incident. The electronic computing device determines that a non-public-safety agency controlled camera is available for capturing incident data corresponding to the incident. The electronic computing device then controls a public-safety agency controlled internet-of-things (IoT) infrastructure deployed at an incident location to emit a signal including one of an audible signal, visible signal, or a combination of audible and visible signals to enable the non-public-safety agency controlled camera to tag incident data using the emitted signal. The electronic computing device links a unique tag representing the emitted signal to the incident identifier.

  • Patent number: 11959754
Abstract: Methods for modifying a patrol route of a safety officer include monitoring persons within geographic areas, identifying a safety officer, tracking an elapsed time value for each of the persons indicating a respective quantity of time since a person has been within a threshold proximity to the safety officer, determining a total elapsed time value for each of the geographic areas based on the respective elapsed time values for each of the persons currently located in the geographic area, determining that a patrol route of the safety officer should be modified based on the total elapsed time value for each of the geographic areas, modifying the patrol route of the safety officer, and transmitting the modified patrol route to the safety officer. The modified patrol route indicates that the safety officer is to patrol a given geographic area of the geographic areas.

  • Patent number: 11956388
Abstract: A process of evaluating the expertise of participants during a group call. In operation, an electronic computing device analyzes speech content of participants on a group call to determine a call context associated with the group call. The electronic computing device then assigns an expected expertise score for the participant by correlating the call context with a participant profile and further determines a demonstrated expertise score for the participant as a function of the expected expertise score and a call participation score indicating a duration of time that the participant has spoken during the group call. When the electronic computing device detects that a decision is being made with respect to the call context, the electronic computing device provides a visual or audio output on a corresponding visual or audio output device indicating the demonstrated expertise score of at least one of the participants.

  • Patent number: 11954065
Abstract: A process of extending retention periods of records. In operation, an electronic computing device identifies a retention period associated with the record. The device obtains information related to a future event. The information includes a time period during which the future event is predicted or scheduled to occur and a location at which the future event is predicted or scheduled to occur. When the device determines that the record is contextually related to the future event based at least in part on the time period or the location of the future event, the retention period associated with the record is extended. The device may also automatically extend retention periods of records based on a number of other retention-related factors associated with the record including recording content, record trustworthiness, recording time, recording location, recording data type, recording source, recording officers' profile and their association, crime statistics, incident severity, and the like.

  • Patent number: 11943382
Abstract: An audio receiver for a converged portable radio (LMR/LTE radio) is provided with improved audio management. The converged device is managed by two different processors (BP/AP) and includes a selectable user setting for selecting either an LMR audio mode or an LTE audio mode (or both). Power up timing differences between the two processors is managed through a smart audio switch mechanism which includes AP control logic for selectively enabling and disabling an AP audio switch in response to operational status of both (AP/BP) processors during power up. The smart audio switch system further includes BP control logic for selectively enabling and disabling a BP audio switch in response to the operational status of the processors. Audio is played out at a single speaker. Both LTE audio and LMR audio can be mixed for a predetermined time during power up until the user selected audio mode has been established.

  • Patent number: 11935325
Abstract: Techniques for saving bandwidth in performing facial recognition are provided. An image including a face may be received, over a wireless link, at a first resolution. A facial recognition system may identify a subset of people who may be associated with the face, wherein the facial recognition system cannot definitively associate the face with an individual person in the subset of people, based on the image including the face at the first resolution. A feature of the subset of people that may be used to identify a person within the subset of people may be determined. A request for the portion of the image containing the feature at a second resolution may be sent over the wireless link. The second resolution may be higher than the first.

  • Patent number: 11935529
Abstract: Techniques for virtual assistant execution of ambiguous commands is provided. A voice instruction from a user may be received at a virtual assistant. The voice instruction may request the virtual assistant to perform a command. The command that is most likely being requested by the voice instruction from the user is identified. An ordered set of actions to execute when performing the command may be retrieved. Each action of the ordered set of actions may indicate if the action is reversible. Each action of the ordered set of actions may be executed in order until a not reversible action is reached or no further actions are in the ordered set of actions.

  • Patent number: 11922700
Abstract: A method and apparatus for aiding a police officer in writing a report by creating a depiction of an incident scene is provided herein. During operation a drone will photograph an incident scene from above. Relevant objects will be identified and a depiction of the incident scene will be created by overlaying the relevant photographed real world objects onto a map retrieved from storage. The depiction of the incident scene will be made available to police officers to increase the officers' efficiency in report writing. More particularly, officers will no longer need to re-create the depiction of the incident scene by hand. Instead, the officer will be able to use the depiction of the incident scene.

  • Patent number: 11922689
Abstract: A process of augmenting images of incident scenes with object descriptions retrieved from an audio stream. In operation, an electronic computing device detects an object of interest in an image captured corresponding to an incident scene and identifies an audio stream linked to an incident identifier of an incident that occurred at the incident scene. The electronic computing device then determines whether the audio stream contains an audio description of the detected object of interest. When it is determined that the audio stream contains the audio description of the detected object of interest, the electronic computing device generates a visual or audio prompt corresponding to the audio description of the detected object of interest and plays back the visual or audio prompt via a corresponding display or audio-output component communicatively coupled to the electronic computing device.
