    Abstract: Systems and methods for extended range direct mode enhanced channel access in digital mobile radio systems. One example method for operating a portable communication device includes receiving a transmit request, and, responsive to receiving the transmit request, transmitting a single transmit burst including a source identifier identifying the portable communications device and starting an enhanced channel access timer. The method includes, when the enhanced channel access timer expires without receiving at least one from the group consisting of a receive idle burst and a receive burst, transmitting a signal based on the transmit request. The method includes, when a receive burst including a second source identifier is received while the enhanced channel access timer has not expired, responsive to receiving the receive burst, comparing the source identifier to the second source identifier.

    Abstract: A system and process for onboarding client devices to a key management server. In operation, a device generates an asymmetric key pair including a public key and a private key. The device obtains an access token from an identity management server after successfully authenticating with the identity management server. The device transmits a request including the access token and the public key to the key management server to onboard the client device. The device receives a response including encrypted bootstrap information from the key management server. The bootstrap information included in the response is encrypted using the public key of the asymmetric key pair. The device decrypts the encrypted bootstrap information using the private key of the asymmetric key pair to obtain the bootstrap information and then uses the bootstrap information for encrypting communications transmitted to the key management server or for decrypting communications received from the key management server.

The electronic computing device then determines that a virtual assistant is not currently deployed at an electronic media device that is identified as positioned at a current location of the second user. When it is determined that the electronic media device is capable of hosting a virtual assistant, the electronic computing device transmits an instruction to deploy a virtual assistant at the electronic media device and further perform an interrogation of the second user to obtain information related to the public-safety incident via the deployed virtual assistant.

The IoT gateway assigns an aggregated data ranking to the IoT data based on the data rankings included in the acknowledgments received from the IoT analytics servers. The IoT gateway then transmits, to the IoT device, an electronic notification including the aggregated data ranking assigned to the IoT data.

In response, the second processor receives a key material derived at the first processor. The second processor then stores the key material in a volatile memory portion of the secure storage container. The second processor executes a main boot process only after erasing instances of the key material temporarily stored outside of the secure storage container.
