Abstract: Techniques for communication protocol based on physical configuration of a wireless device are described and may be implemented to adapt to a variety of different wireless scenarios. For instance, configuration of an antenna system of a wireless device is adapted to optimize wireless performance in different physical configurations, such as open configurations and folded configurations. Further, network communications are adapted to optimize wireless communication with a wireless device in different physical configurations of the wireless device. The described techniques, for instance, optimize performance in different frequency bands based on changes in device configuration between open positions and folded positions.

Abstract: An electronic device, a method and a computer program product for selecting an active camera from among a front facing camera and at least one rear facing camera. The method includes capturing, via a front facing camera, an image stream containing a face of a user and determining, via a processor, an eye gaze direction of the user based on an image retrieved from the image stream. The eye gaze direction corresponds to a location where the user is looking. The method further includes in response to determining that the user is looking away from a front surface of an electronic device and towards a direction within a field of view of the at least one rear facing camera, selecting, as an active camera, a corresponding one of the at least one rear facing cameras with a field of view containing the location to which the user is looking.
Abstract: An electronic cable system operates as an extension cable to facilitate external viewing of internal infrastructure LED status. A wired cable is provided having a first end and a second end, the first end including a first I/O coupler, LED detectors and a power jack; and the second end including a second I/O coupler and a plurality of LEDs. The plurality of LEDs of the second end illuminate in response to activation of the LED detector of the first end. The first I/O coupler may plug into an internal module of electronic infrastructure, such as a server, to detect operational status of the internal module via the LED detectors. The second I/O coupler may couple to infrastructure housing, permitting the plurality of LEDs to be viewed externally of the housing. The plurality of external LEDs on the infrastructure housing mimic internal (non-viewable) status indicator LEDs of the internal module.

Abstract: Techniques for management of commercial virtual assistant services are provided. The techniques include receiving a query from a user within an organization. The techniques include determining if generating at least a portion of a response to the query will require use of a paid service and determining if at least one other virtual assistant within the organization has cached information usable to generate the at least a portion of the response to the query that requires use of the paid service. Abstract: At least one sPDCCH monitoring set including sPDCCH DL control candidates to be monitored by a device in a sTTI of the subframe can be indicated to the device, where an sTTI can be shorter in length than a subframe length TTI. An sPDCCH belonging to one of the at least one sPDCCH monitoring set can be transmitted to the device. The sPDCCH can schedule DL data packet transmissions in a sPDSCH. The sPDCCH can also indicate a rate-matching indicator that indicates at least one OFDM symbol. A sPDSCH can be transmitted rate-matched at least around a set of frequency resources belonging to the at least one OFDM symbol indicated by the rate-matching indicator.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for operating a camera is provided herein. During operation a microphone will identify an object by receiving the sound emitted by the object. Once the object has been identified, a main frequency component of the received sound is determined, and camera parameters are adjusted based on the value of the main frequency component.
Abstract: An electronic device, computer program product, and method mitigates loss of communication between participants in a communication session when a remote participant attempts to speak without manually unmuting the electronic device. A controller configures the electronic device to monitor one or more image streams originating respectively at one or more second electronic devices during a video communication session. The controller identifies, in a particular image stream of the one or more image streams, at least one of a speaking movement of a mouth of a particular participant or a gesture by the particular participant to present an audio input via the video communication session. A user interface presented on at least one user interface device of the electronic device presents an alert that the particular participant is attempting to speak to other participants in the video communication session.

Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for reconfiguring a data connection using new parameters. One apparatus includes a transceiver that communicates with a UE and a processor that registers the UE with a mobile communication network using a first set of parameters, where the first set of parameters is based on a UE configuration. The processor identifies a second set of parameters to be used by the UE in the mobile communication network. Via the transceiver, the processor sends the second set of parameters to the UE and sends mapping information which indicates how the at least one parameter in the second set of parameters corresponds to at least one new parameter for the UE configuration.
Abstract: Methods and systems for coordinating task zones at a public safety incident scene. One system includes an electronic computing device that includes an electronic processor configured to determine a first task to be performed by a first public safety officer and a second task to be performed by a second public safety officer. The electronic processor establishes a first geofence for the first task and a second geofence for the second task. In response to determining that the second geofence at least partially overlaps with the first geofence, the electronic processor determines whether the first task conflicts with the second task. In response to determining that the first task conflicts with the second task, the electronic processor modifies the first task and provides an instruction to a communication device of the first public safety officer to indicate that the first task has been modified.

Abstract: A mobile device communicates content to an external presentation device, such as a display device, for display or other presentation at the external presentation device. The mobile device identifies an impairment of a user of the mobile device. One or more configuration settings for a user interface of the external presentation device are determined based on the impairment of the user. These configuration settings are, for example, an indication of a particular audio level, an indication to perform text to speech, an indication of a particular type of color blindness, and so forth. The configuration settings are communicated to the external presentation device, allowing the external presentation device to be configured for or adapted to the impairment of the user.

Abstract: A proximity-based services server performs a method for facilitating restricted proximity discovery of a user of an application. The method includes obtaining authorization to access a first user's resources for a first application. Abstract: An electronic device, computer program product, and method enhance an augmented reality (AR) display by visually tethering notification content to an identified object. The electronic device includes at least one network interface that communicatively connects the electronic device to the AR display device.
