  • Patent number: 11632449
Abstract: Techniques for antenna configuration for a foldable device are described and may be implemented via a wireless device to adapt to a variety of different wireless scenarios. For instance, configuration of an antenna system of a wireless device is adapted to optimize wireless performance in different physical configurations, such as open configurations and folded configurations. Generally, the described techniques optimize performance in different frequency bands based on changes in device configuration between open positions and folded positions.

  • Patent number: 11632450
Abstract: An electronic device, method and computer program product provide an image capturing device having a lens assembly including a lens and lens housing that supports the lens. The lens housing has an opening that exposes the lens. A planar exterior surface of the electronic device extends across the lens assembly and includes a slit aperture that is smaller than the opening in the lens housing of the image capturing device. The slit aperture directs only a corresponding portion of light from in front of the planar exterior surface through the opening to the lens. The slit aperture enables at least one of: (i) reducing noticeability of the image capturing device; and (ii) use of an adjacent portion of the planar exterior surface for an aesthetic or functional component. An image from the image capturing device is sharpened along a longer dimension of the slit aperture to remove asymmetric blur.

  • Patent number: 11632163
Abstract: A communication device, computer program product, and method provide improved communication performance by a wearable communication device. The communication device receives multipaths of a millimeter wave (mmWave) signal created by a wearable radio frequency (RF) reflecting surface being worn by a person. Controller of the communication device identifies a first direction from which a direct path downlink signal is received and a second direction from which a corresponding a multipath downlink signal is received. The controller determines that the multipath downlink signal is being reflected from the wearable RF reflecting surface. In response to determining that the multipath downlink signal is being reflected from the wearable RF reflecting surface, the controller synchronizes and aggregates the direct path downlink signal and the multipath downlink signal to produce a processed downlink signal that is a better signal than the direct path downlink signal.

  • Patent number: 11632818
Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for establishing a multi-access data connection. One apparatus includes a processor and a transceiver that communicates with one or more network functions in a mobile communication network. The processor receives a first session management request containing: a second session management request sent by a UE, a first indication that the UE requests a single-access data connection and a second indication that the UE allows the network to upgrade the data connection. The processor sends a request to establish a data path for each access network with which the UE is registered, where each data path is anchored at a common user plane network function in the mobile communication network.

  • Patent number: 11632186
Abstract: Method and system for capturing signals in accordance with allocated resources. One method includes receiving, from a server by a network interface of a first communication device located in a cell, identification information of a second communication device located in the cell. The method further includes receiving, from a base station by the network interface of the first communication device, a resource allocation message destined for the second communication device. The resource allocation message indicates a resource allocation for the second communication device on an uplink channel of the base station. The method further includes decoding, by an electronic processor of the first communication device, the resource allocation message using the identification information of the second communication device. The method further includes capturing, by the network interface of the first communication device, signals based on the resource allocation for the second communication device.

  • Patent number: 11632158
Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for preparing channel state information (“CSI”). One apparatus includes a processor and a transceiver configured to communicate with a base unit over a radio access network using at least one transmission layer and determining a total number of non-zero coefficients over a set of layers. The processor encodes the total number of non-zero coefficients by selecting a codeword from a plurality of candidate codewords in which the selected single codeword identifies the total number of non-zero coefficients to the base unit. The processor prepares CSI, where the CSI comprises the selected single codeword encoding the total number of non-zero coefficients and the transceiver transmits the CSI to the base unit.

  • Patent number: 11627139
Abstract: A process for transferring security access permissions between in-camera users includes capturing, at an electronic computing device via an image capture device, an image of two or more in-camera users. A first in-camera user and a second in-camera user are identified n the image. An input gesture identifying the first in-camera user as a source of security access permissions and the second in-camera user as a destination of security access permissions is detected. Responsively, the electronic computing device causes a first particular security access permission associated with the first in-camera user to be applied to and modify a current set of security access permissions associated with the second in-camera user.

  • Patent number: 11627440
Abstract: A method and device for improved audio intelligibility in a converged land mobile radio (LMR)/broadband (BB) communications system is provided. A converged portable radio operating as part of a talkgroup in the LMR/BB system checks for predetermined triggers during standby that could cause receive radios of the talkgroup to receive degraded audio. If such a trigger is detected then the converged portable radio switches from the LMR system to the BB system and transmits a notification including a change system message to the other converged portable radios of the talkgroup. The notification is transmitted prior to any push-to-talk audio being transmitted from the originating radio. The converged portable radio can transmit, via a push-to-talk switch, narrowband (NB) audio and wideband (WB) audio in parallel over the BB system to the talkgroup subsequent to the detection of triggers and the sending of the notification.

  • Patent number: 11627469
Abstract: A process for securely pairing devices. A host device receives an input indicating a user credential for logging into the host device and initiates a scanning process for discovering target devices available for pairing with the host device. During the scanning process, the host device receives wireless pairing information from a target device. The wireless pairing information includes a unique device identifier associated with the target device and an electronic signature generated as a function of a signature key stored at the target device and the unique device identifier. The host device compares the electronic signature with a run-time signature generated at the host device as a function of the user credential received at the host device and the unique device identifier. The host device then initiates a pairing process to establish a short-range communication link with the target device when the electronic signature matches with the run-time signature.
