  • Patent number: 11165452
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for providing hot-switching immunity for radio frequency switching circuits are disclosed. A radio frequency switching circuit may include both a mechanical switch and a solid-state switch. The mechanical switch may be configurable to couple an output path of a power amplifier to a subsequent component in its transmission path when in a first mechanical switch state and to decouple the output path of the power amplifier from the subsequent component when in a second mechanical switch state. The solid-state switch may be configurable to operatively decouple the mechanical switch from a radio frequency power source when in a first solid-state switch state but not when in a second solid-state switch state. The solid-state switch may be in the first solid-state switch state during transitions of the mechanical switch between the first and second mechanical switch states.

  • Patent number: 11165494
Abstract: Portable communications device and method for full duplex operation in a time division multiple access radio system. The method includes providing a switch for connecting one of a first voltage controlled oscillator and a second voltage controlled oscillator to a synthesizer. The synthesizer generates a first frequency when connected to the first voltage controlled oscillator and generates a second frequency when connected to the second voltage controlled oscillator. The method also includes controlling, using an electronic processor coupled to the switch, the switch to connect the first voltage controlled oscillator to the synthesizer for a first timeslot, and controlling, using the electronic processor, the switch to disconnect the first voltage controlled oscillator from the synthesizer and connect the second voltage controlled oscillator to the synthesizer for a second timeslot. The second timeslot is immediately adjacent to the first timeslot.

  • Patent number: 11165906
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing prior-caller location and/or identity into a public-safety answering point is provided herein. During operation, a device such as a smart phone will store location and identity information for recently-received calls. If the device places a call to a PSAP within a predetermined amount of time from when the prior call was received at the device, a flag is sent to the PSAP operator notifying the PSAP operator of the prior call. The PSAP operator can then inquire about the prior call. The caller is then allowed to electronically transfer location and identity information related to the prior call to the PSAP operator if they wish to do so.

  • Patent number: 11163619
Abstract: A state-aware microservice system for managing messages and providing a service. The state-aware microservice system includes a plurality of instances of the service, a message broker, a memory, and an electronic processor. The processor is configured to receive, via an instance of the plurality, a message for the service and determine whether a processing of the message is consistent with a current state of the system. When the processing of the message is consistent, the processor process the message via one of the plurality of instances. When the processing of the message is not consistent, the processor transmits the message to a first queue of the message broker, determines, from a timer of the message, a time-to-live of the message, and transfers the message to a second queue of one of the plurality of instances in response to the time-to-live expiring.

  • Publication number: 20210333961
Abstract: In aspects of temporarily extending display timeout, a wireless device has a touchscreen display that displays content and is designed to turn off after a designated period of time for a screen lock timeout. The wireless device implements a display controller module that can detect an input on the touchscreen display, and determine the input as an override of the screen lock timeout to maintain the display of the content. The display controller module can then extend the screen lock timeout for a temporary time duration based on the override to maintain the display of the content. The display controller module can also revert back to the designated period of time for the screen lock timeout after expiration of the temporary time duration.

  • Patent number: 11157058
Abstract: An electronic device detects ambient contextual data and positioning data such as orientation and motion to determine an activity state of the electronic device. A controller sets a polling interval of an open/closed position sensor that is connected to a movable portion connected to a base to detect an open/closed event. In response to determining a first activity state, controller sets a first polling interval that mitigates power consumption. In response to determining a second activity state, the controller sets the polling interval to a second polling interval that is shorter than the first polling interval to reduce latency in detecting the open/closed event.

  • Patent number: 11150794
Abstract: An electronic device includes a fingerprint sensor and one or more processors operable with the fingerprint sensor. One or more motion detectors are also operable with the one or more processors. The one or more processors determine with the fingerprint sensor, a direction of rotation of an object rotating, and in contact with, the fingerprint sensor. The one or more motion detectors detect whether the electronic device is rotating in three-dimensional space. The one or more processors then select and perform a first control operation when the object is rotating in a first axial direction and the electronic device is substantially stationary. Alternatively, the one or more processors select and perform a second control operation when the electronic device is rotating and the object is rotating in the first axial direction.
