  • Patent number: 9583045
Abstract: A display control circuit is capable of adjusting backlight intensity according to image content as well as compensating pixel values of frames for power saving and distortion reduction. The display control circuit includes a threshold determining circuit, a pulse width modulation (PWM) control circuit and a pixel value adjusting circuit. The threshold determining circuit determines a threshold according to a reference value by histogramming a to-be-displayed frame. The threshold is smaller than an upper limit of the pixel values, and a proportion of the number of pixel values between the threshold and the upper limit which occupy a total pixel number is lower than the reference value. The PWM control circuit generates a PWM signal for controlling a backlight luminance according to the threshold. The pixel value adjusting circuit adjusts the values of the pixels according to the threshold.

  • Patent number: 9552193
Abstract: Techniques are provided herein for the offline static analysis of a stable code base in order to build a compiler and tools specialized to that code base. This allows global code base knowledge to be applied earlier in the compilation process giving better opportunities for optimization. The offline static analysis produces specialized compiler components that are then used to rebuild the compiler. This results, over time, in a compiler specialized to the code base with improved optimization after every compiler release cycle.

  • Patent number: 9525890
Abstract: A decoding method for an audio video coding standard (AVS) system is provided. According to a stop-fetching criterion, a stop-fetching flag is set to an enabled status or a disabled status. In an offset fetching procedure, it is determined whether an offset value is smaller than a threshold and whether the stop-fetching is in the disabled status. When a determination result is affirmative, one subsequent bit is fetched for the offset value, an offset shift value is correspondingly increased, and the determination step is iterated. When the determination result is negative, the offset fetching procedure is terminated. Next, it is determined whether a decoding result is a least probable symbol (LPS) or a most probable symbol (MPS).

  • Patent number: 9509419
Abstract: A communication circuit includes a receiver path, a frequency translating loop filter and a signal source circuit. The frequency translating loop filter includes an auxiliary mixer, and a frequency translating filter backend circuit such as a filter. The signal source circuit can be shared with a transmitter path. When the receiver path receives an external signal, the auxiliary mixer and the frequency translating filter backend circuit perform high-frequency filtering. When the receiver path need not receive the external signal, the auxiliary mixer up-converts a low-frequency auxiliary signal provided by the signal source circuit to a high-frequency domain, and the up-converted signal is received by the receiver path. Thus, an operation parameter of the receiver path can be adjusted and calibrated according to a response of the receiver path.
