Patents Assigned to Multimedia Games, Inc.
  • Patent number: 7976375
Abstract: A processing device measures the time it takes for a player to take some action in a game and bases the award or result in the game for the player at least in part on that measured time. A player receives a more desirable result or outcome for a particular game play in response to a shorter player action time and/or receives a less desirable result or outcome for a particular game play in response to a longer player action time. Providing more desirable results for shorter player action times or less desirable results for longer player action times provides players an incentive that influences them to take the appropriate player actions more quickly.

  • Patent number: 7938720
Abstract: A method includes operating a bingo player station in a first play mode in which the result for a respective bingo game play initiated through the bingo player station is assigned according to a first pattern list. In response to detecting a trigger event, the bingo player station is switched from the first play mode to a second play mode and then the bingo player station is operated in this second play mode. In the second play mode, the result for a respective bingo game play initiated through the bingo player station is assigned according to a second pattern list. The bingo player station is switched from the second play mode to the first play mode in response to a return event. Both the first pattern list and the second pattern list may share at least one result level and at least one common result indicator. However, the two pattern lists are different so that a given bingo pattern correlated to a prize in one of the pattern maps may correlate to a different prize or no prize in the other pattern map.

  • Patent number: 7934987
Abstract: A gaming system utilizes a game designation generating component, a gaming establishment component, and a set of predefined bingo card representations. Each bingo card representation is stored in electronic format as a data structure or data record defining a predefined pattern of game designations chosen from a pool of available designations. The game designation generating component generates sets of game designations from a pool of available designations. The method employed in the gaming system includes pre-matching the bingo card representations to a given set of game designations to produce a matched card set. This pre-matching occurs prior to the sale, distribution, or assignment of card representations to players in the game.

  • Patent number: 7766741
Abstract: Each bingo card representation matched with a game designation set in a given bingo game (a “matched bingo card representation”) represents a respective game play record providing a result in the bingo game. The result represented by a matched bingo card representation is displayed to a player in the bingo-type game through a result representation provided at a suitable player station. Each result representation is correlated to one or more game results in the bingo-type game so that each game result in the bingo-type game is associated with a result representation. According to the invention, each result representation includes a graphical representation unrelated to the bingo-type game.

  • Patent number: 7708634
Abstract: After identifying a set of initial game designations to produce a game ending winner for a bingo game, one or more additional game designations may be considered, that is, compared against a bingo card in play in the bingo game. Considering these additional game designations in addition to the set of initial game designations may produce additional matched locations on the bingo card and may produce a winning pattern that would not have been produced considering only the set of initial game designations. This use of additional game designations provides additional opportunities for players to obtain a winning result.

  • Patent number: 7708627
Abstract: A decision field is displayed having a number of result tokens spaced apart at different locations about the decision field, with each result token displaying a respective potential result. A decision point is also displayed within the decision field. This decision point is associated with two or more direction options which are preferably graphically depicted along with the decision point, and the player is enabled to make a direction input to select one of the direction options. Once the player has made their direction input to select one of the direction options associated with the decision point, a graphically depicted player token is caused to traverse the decision field along a player token path that includes a path portion associated with the selected direction option. The player token path may eventually intersect one or more result tokens of the decision field and the player is then awarded the potential result displayed by the respective result token or tokens intersected by the player token path.

  • Patent number: 7695361
Abstract: A pattern probability (302) is determined for each of a number of target patterns (301) achievable in a bingo-type game. Each pattern probability (302) comprises a probability of achieving the respective target pattern (301) in the bingo-type game. Different pattern sets are then associated with each different prize level in a desired prize distribution. The target patterns (301) and their respective pattern probabilities (302) are assigned or mapped to the different pattern sets so that the probability of achieving any target pattern included in a pattern set comprises a value approximating the desired probability of the prize level with which the pattern set is associated.
