Patent number: 5446429Abstract: An earth electrode is formed on a first major surface of a piezoelectric substrate, so as to be opposed to both of first and second excitation electrodes which are formed on a second major surface of the piezoelectric substrate. An earth terminal electrode, which is connected to the earth electrode is prevented from overlapping with a lead line which connects the first excitation electrode with a terminal electrode. An electric insulating film is formed in a position opposed to the lead line. Accordingly, if a conductive adhesive, which is employed for connecting the earth terminal electrode to another electrode, spreads beyond the earth terminal electrode, the lead line is not overlapped with the earth terminal electrode or the conductive adhesive through the piezoelectric substrate. In consequence, it is possible to prevent undesirable vibration of piezoelectric substrate in portions other than between the excitation electrodes and the earth electrode.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 1993Date of Patent: August 29, 1995Assignee: Murata Mfg. Patent number: 5446335Abstract: A piezoresonator which has, on a piezoelectric substrate, a plurality of oscillation sections and a coupling capacitor section for electrically connecting the oscillation sections with each other. The piezoelectric substrate is polarized, while the portion holding the coupling capacitor section is partly left unpolarized. Alternatively, the piezoelectric substrate is entirely polarized such that the portion holding the coupling capacitor section has a lower intensity of polarization than the rest of the substrate. The polarization is carried out, for example, in the following process: first, a direct voltage is applied to the entire piezoelectric substrate so as to polarize the substrate entirely with a high intensity; and then, a direct voltage with the inverse polarity of the former direct current is applied only to the portion holding the coupling capacitor section so as to lower the intensity of polarization of the portion.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 1994Date of Patent: August 29, 1995Assignee: Murata Mfg. Patent number: 5424093Abstract: A thick layer of electrode material paint is formed on a flat surface. A film of the electrode material paint is formed on an element by dipping the element into the layer. In the next step, a thinner layer of the electrode material paint than the aforementioned layer is formed on a flat surface. Into the thinner layer of the electrode material paint, the film of the electrode material paint formed on the element is dipped. Alternatively, the element may first be dipped into a thinner layer of the electrode material paint so that a thin film of the electrode material paint is formed on the element. The film formed on the element is then dipped into a thick layer of the electrode material paint and then again into a thin layer of the electrode material paint in such order. By firing the film of the electrode material paint obtained in this manner, an electronic element having external electrodes of a uniform thickness can be obtained.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 1994Date of Patent: June 13, 1995Assignee: Murata Mfg.
