Abstract: Proposed is a light sensor (1), comprising at least one wavelength selective photo-detector (10), a lens (20) and an aperture (30).The wavelength selective photo-detector allows detecting light within a predefined wavelength range falling on the sensor. The lens project light on the photo-detector and the aperture defines a field of view of the light sensor. The photo-detector (10), the lens (20), and the aperture (30) are arranged in a telecentric configuration. Advantageously, this allows light to impinge on the wavelength selective photo-detector within a predefined range of angles irrespective of the direction of the light incident on the aperture, thus removing the angle dependent response of the wavelength selective photo-detector.

Abstract: A radiation detector includes an array of detector pixels each including an array of detector cells. Each detector cell includes a photodiode biased in a breakdown region and digital circuitry coupled with the photodiode and configured to output a first digital value in a quiescent state and a second digital value responsive to photon detection by the photodiode. Digital triggering circuitry is configured to output a trigger signal indicative of a start of an integration time period responsive to a selected number of one or more of the detector cells transitioning from the first digital value to the second digital value. Readout digital circuitry accumulates a count of a number of transitions of detector cells of the array of detector cells from the first digital state to the second digital state over the integration time period.
Abstract: A method for generating a stereoscopic presentation of a region-of-interest in a monoscopic information representation. The method includes the steps of: (a) selecting first and second viewpoints for the region-of-interest; (b) creating a lens surface having a predetermined lens surface shape for the region-of-interest, the lens surface having a plurality of polygonal surfaces constructed from a plurality of points sampled from the lens surface shape; (c) creating first and second transformed presentations by overlaying the representation on the lens surface and perspectively projecting the lens surface with the overlaid representation onto a plane spaced from the first and second viewpoints, respectively; and, (d) displaying the first and second transformed presentations on a display screen to generate the stereoscopic presentation.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for preparing arylamines and, in particular, a method for preparing aniline and anilines substituted on the aromatic ring from ammonia, under easily-industrialized mild conditions with good selectivity and yields, in the presence of a catalytic system including a copper complex.

Abstract: A radio-frequency coil assembly (18), for use in a magnetic resonance imaging system (10), includes a plurality of coil elements (18n). The coil elements (18n) are connected to a decoupling network (40) which includes a plurality of decoupling elements (40n,x) connected (via transmission lines) to pairs of coil elements (18n, 18x) at corresponding ports (64n,64x) from which the coil can be fed. The decoupling elements (40n,x) compensate for mutual coupling between pairs of corresponding coil elements. An inductive coupling loop (51n), with a constant or adjustable mutual inductance, inductively couples the associated coil element (18n) to the corresponding decoupling network port (64n). Transmission lines (52n) electrically connect each inductive coupling loop (51n) to the decoupling network (40) at the corresponding port (64x). Each transmission line (52n) has an electrical length of k?/2 where k=0,1,2,3 . . .
Abstract: A wake-to-sleep transition for a subject is detected based on responsiveness to breathing cues provided to the subject. A pressurized flow of breathable gas to the airway of subject having one or more gas parameters that are adjusted to provide breathing cues to the subject. Based on a detected conformance of the respiration of the subject to the breathing cues, a determination is made as to whether the subject is awake or asleep.

Abstract: A record carrier (1) has a servo track (4) indicating an information track (9) intended for recording information blocks. The servo track (4) has a periodic variation of a physical parameter at a predetermined frequency, usually called wobble. The servo track has modulated parts for encoding position information according to a predetermined type of modulation. The record carrier includes a management area in which the servo track includes permanent data. The permanent data is encoded using a different type of modulation, but using the variations of the same physical parameter. Direct digital modulation (41) is proposed for the different type of modulation.
