  • Publication number: 20120302877
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) for combined ablation and ultrasound imaging of associated tissue (40), which is particularly useful for use in an ablation process. The system comprises an interventional device (20) with an ultrasouond transducer and an ablation unit. During an ablation process, the interventional device (20) can be applied for both ablation and imaging of the tissue (40) subject to the ablation. A controlling unit (CTRL) is further comprised within the system, and arranged to calculate a predictor value based on one or more signals from the ultrasound transducer, where the predictor value relates to a risk of impending tissue damage due to a rapid release of bubble energy. According to a specific embodiment, a primary signal is sent if the predictor value exceeds a threshold value, so that proper measures can be taken.

Abstract: A system for controlling and regulating breathing gas supplied to a patient that includes a pressure generator system that provides breathing gas to a patient and a patent circuit that delivers the breathing gas to the patient. The system includes an interface device coupled to the patient circuit to communicate the flow of gas to the patient' airway. A sensor detects a parameter indicative of a flow of breathing gas delivered to the patient. A controller coupled to the sensor and the pressure generator system measures at least one characteristic of respiratory airflow of a patient and calculates a target breath-amplitude-based parameter and a time-based parameter of at least a portion of the patient's respiratory cycle to be delivered to the patient based on the at least one characteristic of respiratory airflow.

  • Publication number: 20120302876
Abstract: The invention relates to an object localization apparatus for localizing an object having markers based on a projection image. An object function (8) is provided along x-z positions (9, 20 . . . 25), wherein the x-z positions (9, 20 . . . 25) are defined by pairs of an x position being a position of a recognized projected marker along a fictive line on the recognized projected object in a projection plane and a z position defining a position in a direction being outside the projection plane. The position is determined based on the object function (8) which is modified by varying the z positions such that distances between the x-z positions along the object function (8) are adapted to distances between the markers of the object. This allows the object localization apparatus to determine the position with a reduced number of projection images, in particular, with only a single projection image.
