  • Patent number: 6922580
Abstract: A magnetic resonance imaging method and apparatus includes a navigator region defined within the subject by selective excitation. Blood flow is measured within the selected region using the principles of phase contrast MR angiography. A cardiac cycle plot is constructed from Fourier transformed data that represents measured velocity of blood flow through the navigator region as a function of time. On the basis of the cardiac cycle plot and the navigator measurements, data acquisition is synchronized or gated to portions of the cardiac cycle.

  • Patent number: 6922797
Abstract: The error concealment method improves the signal quality in transmission systems. The method is used for processing speech signals which have been encoded to speech parameters before transmission via a transmission channel. It allows detection at the receiving end of corrupted signal parameters due to adverse channel conditions. The method comprises estimations of the signal quality and a statistic study of the evolution of the signal parameters so as to derive an indication that the parameter is probably corrupted. A first signal quality estimation is performed. It may be e.g. an estimation of the error probability within the most important bits of the frame. A second signal quality estimation is performed. It may be e.g. an estimation of the error probability within all bits of the frame. Depending on the results of the estimations, the statistic study is performed in order to detect which signal parameters are probably corrupted.

  • Patent number: 6922230
Abstract: Linewidth variations and bias that result from MEF changes and reticle linewidth variations in a printed substrate are controlled by correcting exposure dose and partial coherence at different spatial locations. In a photolithographic device for projecting an image of a reticle onto a photosensitive substrate, an adjustable slit is used in combination with a partial coherence adjuster to vary at different spatial locations the exposure dose received by the photosensitive substrate and partial coherence of the system. The linewidth variance and horizontal and vertical or orientation bias are calculated or measured at different spatial locations with reference to a reticle, and a corrected exposure dose and partial coherence is determined at the required spatial locations to compensate for the variance in linewidth and bias on the printed substrate. Improved printing of an image is obtained, resulting in the manufacture of smaller feature size semiconductor devices and higher yields.

Abstract: Successive sequences of interleaved data samples extracted from a virtual memory having L0 columns and C0 rows are de-interleaved. The de-interleaving includes receiving each sequence of the interleaved data samples, and writing row by row the received sequences of interleaved data samples in a de-interleaving memory array having L rows and C columns, with L being greater or equal to L0 and C being greater or equal to C0. The data samples stored in the de-interleaving memory array are de-interleaved sub-array by sub-array. Each sub-array is a square cluster array having a number SQ of rows and columns. A cluster array is a row of the square cluster array comprising SQ data samples, with the number L of rows and the number C of columns of the de-interleaving memory array being multiples of the number SQ of rows and columns.

  • Publication number: 20050156619
Abstract: The present invention is related to a device (1) for measuring the quiescent current IDDQ drawn by an electronic device such as a CMOS device or an IC, from a supply voltage. The quiescent current is drawn in between switching peaks, and is a measure for the quality of a device under test. The measurement device of the invention comprises a current measuring unit (6), and parallel to this CMU (6), a current bypass unit CBU (20), comprising a power MOSFET. In the CBU of the invention, a connection (51) is present between a terminal other than the gate or base of one driver transistor and the source of the MOSFET, thereby minimising the charge transfer effects which are likely to occur during switching of the MOSFET. The invention is further related to a measurement device for IDDQ measurement comprising a current offset unit (21), which is aimed at improving the measurement range, without losing measurement resolution.

Abstract: Applying the method of manufacturing a polymeric foil (30) having partly embedded inorganic particles (19) results in the polymeric foil (30) being suitable for use as a movable element (3) in a display panel (21). The method starts by embedding inorganic particles (19) partly into a release layer (32) which covers a substrate (31). This product (37) is covered with a layer of polymeric material (18), which is solidified to obtain the polymeric foil (30). By removing the release layer (32), the polymeric foil (30) having a surface with a roughness brought about by the partly embedded inorganic particles (19) is set free.

Abstract: Libraries of unimolecular, double-stranded oligonucleotides on a solid support. These libraries are useful in pharmaceutical discovery for the screening of numerous biological samples for specific interactions between the double-stranded oligonucleotides, and peptides, proteins, drugs and RNA. In a related aspect, the present invention provides libraries of conformationally restricted probes on a solid support. The probes are restricted in their movement and flexibility using double-stranded oligonucleotides as scaffolding. The probes are also useful in various screening procedures associated with drug discovery and diagnosis.
