Abstract: A digital video recorder or similar apparatus implements a method of converting an input data stream having an MPEG-2 Program Stream (PS) format into an output data stream having an MPEG-2 Transport Stream (TS) format. The input data stream (PS) includes data of at least first and second elementary data streams (404, 406) formed and multiplexed in compliance with a PS decoder model. Abstract: Improvement is afforded in the recognition of wide-band data transmitted in the form of a data sequence to a network element of an analog, cellular network, notably a mobile radio set or a base station. Abstract: In apparatus for magnetic resonance imaging equipped for parallel imaging, in the sense that an array of receive coils can be used to regenerate data at phase-encode gradients interposed between those at which measurements were taken, the full set of data is collected, which is then split into two sets with a greater separation of phase-encode gradients (FIGS. 13 and 14). Abstract: A method is disclosed for the generation and application of anisotropic elastic parameters. Anisotropic elastic parameters are generated such that, for selected seismic wave and anisotropy types, an approximation to the anisotropic modeling of seismic amplitudes is obtained by the equivalent isotropic modeling with the anisotropic elastic parameters. In seismic modeling, wavelet estimation, seismic interpretation, inversion and the interpretation and analysis of inversion results anisotropy are handled with isotropic methods, when earth elastic parameters utilized in these methods are replaced by the anisotropic elastic parameters.

The process of the present invention makes it possible to provide a solar cell unit comprising a highly conductive current collection grid by way of a simple process. Abstract: An aspect of the present invention is the use of two criteria in channel estimation, e.g. a value related to the length of an estimated Channel Impulse Response (CIR) and a value related to a noise content of the received signal, e.g. a Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). These parameters can be used for the post-processing algorithm. An advantage of the present invention is that it is much more robust against long channels and/or high noise contents in received signals. Additionally it has moderate implementation complexity.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transferring information over a communications link includes transmitting information at a first power level, monitoring for correct reception of the transmitted information and transmitting further information at a second-, greater power level than that used for the original transmission if correct reception did not occur. The further information allows the content of the originally transmitted information to be established and in one embodiment constitutes a retransmission of the originally transmitted information. By retransmitting at a greater power level the probability of correct reception is enhanced, especially when the communications link is wireless. A transmitter employing the present invention may offer reduced power consumption since the transmission power level used for the original transmission may be lower than that used by a transmitter not benefiting from the present invention.
Abstract: In a magnetic resonance imaging method flow quantities and diffusion quantities are measured in the presence of temporary magnetic gradient fields (gradient pulses).
