  • Publication number: 20210133124
Abstract: Individual bits of a K bit unary data word, wherein K is greater than one, are applied to K polyphase finite impulse response filter circuits. Each polyphase finite impulse response filter circuit receives a different bit and operates with a single bit precision to generate from each received bit a filtered output data word. A gain adjustment is applied by a gain stage circuit to each filtered output data word to generate a corresponding gain adjusted output data word. The gain adjusted output data words from the gain stage circuits are summed to generate an output data word. The unary data word may be output from a source such as a data encoder or a quantizer.

  • Publication number: 20210135681
Abstract: A delay chain circuit with series coupled delay elements receives a reference clock signal and outputs phase-shifted clock signals. A multiplexer circuit receives the phase-shifted clock signals and selects among the phase-shifted clock signals for output as in response to a selection signal. The selection signal is generated by a control circuit from a periodic signal having a triangular wave profile. A sigma-delta modulator converts the periodic signal to a digital signal, and an integrator circuit integrates the digital signal to output the selection signal. The selected phase-shifted clock signal is applied as the reference signal to a phase locked loop which generates a spread spectrum clock signal.

  • Patent number: 10998095
Abstract: Disclosed herein are approaches for monitoring a patient in real-time for ARDS development and providing a biomarker-driven ventilation therapy recommendation tool based on the correlation of various therapy patterns and an ARDS biomarker score. When the ARDS biomarker indicates that a patient has a high ARDS risk, the recommendation tool suggests possible therapy routes based on clinical practice. In response to a high score output by the ARDS detection model, the tool outputs a recommendation to initiate a lung protective ventilation strategy (Low Tidal Volume, high Positive End-Expiratory Pressure (PEEP)). A high ARDS score is recognized to be predictive of the appropriateness of such therapy up to several hours before such intervention is typically initiated under current clinical practices.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to identify and quantify the microorganisms present in a sample. Sequence reads are classified using existing methods, but the classification results are corrected to account for the number of reads expected to be falsely classified as determined through simulation. With statistics on the expected number of reads misclassified, a linear least squares method (non-negative or otherwise) or other related technique can be used to adjust the number of reads that are classified to various taxonomic units (e.g., species) and to determine more accurate values for the quantities of those taxonomic units actually present in the sample, eliminating microorganisms in taxonomic units falsely determined to be present in the sample.
