Abstract: The invention relates to a system (1) for assisting in assessing a state of a subject's lung. The system is adapted to process a dark field image, which comprises dark field values for different spatial positions and for different breathing state values, such that a differentiation image is generated by differentiating the provided dark field image with respect to the breathing state values. This differentiation can lead to a functional image which can be used for detecting changes of air-soft tissue interfaces, which might be caused by a lung disease, with high sensitivity. This allows for an improved assisting in assessing a state of a subject's lung.
Abstract: A wireless power transfer system includes a power transmitter (101) arranged to provide a power transfer to a power receiver (105) via a wireless inductive power signal. A parasitic power loss detector (207) is arranged to detect a parasitic power loss for the power transfer, and a user indicator (209) is arranged to initialize a user alert in response to the detection of the parasitic power loss. The system comprises an input (211) for receiving user inputs; and a controller (213) which is arranged to initiate an adaptation of a parasitic power loss detection operation performed by the parasitic power loss detector (207) to detect parasitic power losses if a user input meeting a criterion is not received. Each of the individual features may be implemented in the power transmitter (101), the power receiver (105), or may e.g. be distributed between these. The approach may allow improved foreign object detection in a wireless power transfer system.

Abstract: One or more processors receive, from one or more social-network sources, social-network data that identifies at least one potentially malicious source accessing a plurality of social-network profiles for a group of users. The one or more processors receive, from one or more e-mail servers, e-mail data associated with a plurality of e-mail messages received by the group of users. The one or more processors determine, based on the social-network data and the e-mail data, that an e-mail message of the plurality of e-mail messages is from the at least one potentially malicious source. The one or more processors output information identifying the e-mail message as being from the potentially malicious source.

Abstract: An ultrasound system (10) which is capable of biplane imaging is able to display, store and export independent image frames of only the reference image or only the variable orientation image, or the standard display of both images. The system is also able to sweep through a range of image plane orientations and to automatically acquire an image in each orientation over the range of plane orientations. The system is preferably operable in the biplane tilt mode, the biplane rotate mode, or the biplane elevation tilt mode.
Abstract: Attacks with inserted data may be greatly thwarted with the disclosed innovation featuring systems and methods of using a governor. A governor may act directly in in-line processing to reduce and limit attack surfaces, enforcing validators pre-selected by applications and/or, in the absence of application preselection, selecting and validating validators separately. The applicability of such a technical improvement to system operations improves the technical operations of most any system with one or more applications that accept potential attack surface items, such as data, data fields and/or data types, from “open” or uncontrolled sources.

A medical instrument (102) is disposed in the volume and includes the marker device. A control module (124) is stored in memory and is configured to interpret the ultrasonic energy received from the probe and from the marker device to determine a three dimensional location of the medical instrument and to highlight the three dimensional location of the marker device with the marker in the image.

Abstract: A display device has a display panel (70) and a color filter layer (72) spaced from the display panel, comprising an array of color filter portions. In a privacy mode (narrow viewing angle mode), the display panel produces output regions of different light output color, which regions are aligned with corresponding color portions of the color filter layer. In a public mode (wide viewing angle mode) the display panel produces light containing all of the output colors to all of the output regions. By providing a color filter layer spaced from the display panel, color filtering is used to control the range of angles over which an image is output. The color filter layer is in essence moved away from the display panel. The spacing between the two and the width of the color filter portions determines the extent by which the light output is angularly limited.

Abstract: A 3D ultrasonic diagnostic imaging system produces 3D display images at a 3D frame rate of display which is equal to the acquisition rate of a 3D image dataset. The volumetric region being imaged is sparsely sub-sampled by separated scanning beams. Spatial locations between the beams are filled in with interpolated values or interleaved with acquired data values from other 3D scanning intervals depending upon the existence of motion in the image field. A plurality of different beam scanning patterns are used, different ones of which have different spatial locations where beams are located and beams are omitted. In a preferred embodiment the determination of motion and the consequent decision to use interpolated or interleaved data for display is determined on a pixel-by pixel basis.
