  • Publication number: 20190340351
Abstract: In authenticating a first circuit by a second circuit, the second circuit selects one of a set of public values and sends to the first circuit a request for a secret value corresponding to the selected one of the set of public values. The first circuit derives the secret value from the selected one of the set of public values using a seed from set of seeds that is stored in a destructive fashion such that each use of a seed destroys that seed. The set of seeds is smaller in number than the set of public values. The second circuit determines whether the secret value matches the selected one of the set of public values using a one-way function. A positive authentication is generated based upon the determination of a match.

  • Patent number: 10469487
Abstract: A method of generating a biometric electronic signature authenticated key exchange (“BESAKE”) token. The method begins when a biometric sample captured from a signing party is received. A secret knowledge factor is received. An encryption key is generated using the secret knowledge factor as an input to a password authenticated key exchange protocol. The biometric sample is encrypted with the encryption key. The BESAKE token is generated and includes the encrypted biometric sample and a signing party identifier associated with the secret knowledge factor. The BESAKE token can be verified using a decryption key generated using a stored knowledge factor as an input to the password authenticated key exchange protocol. The secret knowledge factor is retrieved based on the signing party identifier. The identity of the signing party can be authenticated by decrypting the biometric sample from the BESAKE token using the decryption key and matching the decrypted biometric sample.

  • Patent number: 10470043
Abstract: Theft identification, prevention, and remedy are provided. A determination is made that a client device has been compromised. When the device makes the determination, a message is conveyed to the server and the server replies with a security challenge. When the server makes the determination, the security challenge is automatically sent to the device. An intelligence manager on the device attempts to answer the security question without interaction from the user. If there is an anomaly, a challenge is output to the user. Based on a false response to the challenge, a current data stream may be disrupted and removed from the device. Further, other devices in the network may be notified about the compromised device.
