  • Patent number: 8956424
Abstract: Provided is a method and an apparatus for purifying potassium nitrate from the solid waste produced by a chemical glass-strengthening process. In the method, the solid waste is melted into a liquid waste at first. Potassium nitrate of various purity grades can be obtained by batch processing the liquid waste through stepwise cooling processes of cooling the liquid waste to a first temperature facilitating the potassium nitrate contained in the liquid waste to be crystallized at a first rate and then cooling the liquid waste to a second temperature close to the freezing point of the potassium nitrate at a second rate that is slower than the first rate. The recovered potassium nitrate from the solid waste can be recycled and reused.

  • Patent number: 8676023
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for fabricating polymeric wavelength filter based on an asymmetric Bragg coupler with single-grating waveguide. The asymmetric waveguide coupler is formed firstly on a negative photo-resist mold. PDMS film is injected into the narrow waveguide of the coupler to act as a protection layer. The gratings pattern is exposed on the alternative waveguide and subsequently transferred to PDMS stamp mold. The PDMS stamp mold is used as a stamp to transfer the gratings pattern of the ABC wavelength filter onto UV cured polymer to form the final ABC filter. Whereby, the fabrication process is reliable and accurate, and can offer great potential for mass production of the ABC filter with single-grating waveguide.

  • Patent number: 8488284
Abstract: A transformer failure analysis system using a programmable chip in conjunction with a shock response spectrum analysis method to distinguish inrush current and fault current of a transformer and to monitor the phase of an AC power source inputting to the transformer by a phase detector. When an inrush current occurs, the programmable chip provides a control signal to delay the phase of the AC power source being inputted into the transformer, thereby suppressing the occurrence of the inrush current. When a fault current occurs, the control signal cuts off the AC power source from the transformer until the operator has tested the whole circuit architecture to debug and correct circuit application and eliminated the internal fault.

  • Patent number: 8477321
Abstract: A high precision, rapidly operable optical parallelism measurement device includes a light source module, a light beam splitting module and at least two photoelectric detectors. The light source module has a light source and a light beam splitting element such that the light source module is able to produce two light beams perpendicular to each other. One beam is parallel to the former parallel by moving beam and is received by the other detector. With this scheme, the measurement can be performed by means of those perpendicular and parallel light beams without being affected by the structure of the machine platen to cause errors. The device can be manufactured with low cost and high precision. It is very compact in size and easy to carry and build up for rapid measurement.

  • Patent number: 8325333
Abstract: A geometric error measuring device includes a measuring module and at least one (quadrant) photodiode. The measuring module has an emitting deice, which may emit at least one light ray; the photodiode may receive the incident ray. Also, the trajectory of the incident ray is parallel with the direction of measurement. If there is no geometric error, the position of the incident light ray will coincide with the position of the measured light ray. If there is a geometric error, the position of the measured light ray will not coincide with the position of the incident light ray. After the data are processed and calculated, geometric errors in straightness, squareness and rotational angles (pitch, yaw and roll) may be obtained. These geometric errors may then be corrected in the setup of a machine.
