Patent number: 4784416Abstract: The lock button on a door latch is slidable in a horizontal direction between a retracted unlocking position and an extended locking position wherein it blocks a latch hook release member from unlatching the latch, prevents inadvertent locking of the door and extends alongside a strike shoulder on the associated door jamb to provide a secondary latch.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1983Date of Patent: November 15, 1988Assignee: National Manufacturing Co.Inventors: Marlin D. Crown, James R. Johnston
-
Patent number: 4750237Abstract: A trolley assembly for a pocket door system comprises a central carrier having a plurality of rollers journaled for rotation thereon. A hanger member having a bolt portion which is threadedly received by the carrier includes a laterally extending pintle. The pintle is received within an aperture of a bracket member secured to an upper edge surface of a door. A locking member is insertable into the aperture after the pintle is received therein and includes an abutment portion selectively positionable in proximity to the hanger member. When inserted into the aperture, the locking member blocks relative movement between the bracket member and hanger member thereby preventing removal of the pintle from the bracket aperture. The door height is conveniently adjusted by removal of the locking member and dissociation of the bracket member from the pintle whereupon the hanger member can be selectively threaded inwardly or outwardly of the carrier.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1986Date of Patent: June 14, 1988Assignee: National Manufacturing Co.Inventor: James R. Johnston

Patent number: 4742645Abstract: A pocket-door assembly includes a pair of trolley assemblies fixed to an upper edge of a vertically disposed door. A header member is positioned generally horizontally over the door and comprises a central plate portion with a pair of integrally formed downwardly extending tracks for receiving rollers of the trolley assemblies. The header member is attachable to a standard dimension lumber member of the wood frame structure within which the pocket-door assembly is intended to be inserted, and is preferably a unitary extruded metal structure. A plurality of vertical stud members are fixed at their upper ends to the header member on opposite sides thereof defining a pocket within which the door is receivable. The stud members each comprise a metal channel member having a generally C-shaped cross section into which a standard dimension lumber piece is inserted.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1986Date of Patent: May 10, 1988Assignee: National Manufacturing Co.Inventor: James R. Johnston

Patent number: 4643469Abstract: A latch for use with a gate includes a latch body having a planar mounting surface on a rearward side thereof with a pair of space apart flanges which receive a bolt in openings thereto. The bolt is positioned parallel to the surface of the gauge and is slidably and rotatably disposed within the flange openings. An enlargement on one side of the bolt will allow the bolt to pass through one of the flanges when in a predetermined angular position for removal. However an offturned end of the bolt extends rearwardly of the mounting surface, and the bolt enlargement is so oriented such that the bolt is not removable from the latch body when the body is normally attached to the gate.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1985Date of Patent: February 17, 1987Assignee: National Manufacturing Co.Inventors: James R.
