  • Publication number: 20240238648
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes generating a workout plan for a user having a user profile. The workout plan includes an exercise selected from a set of exercises stored in the user profile. The exercise has a prescribed weight and a prescribed number of exercise repetitions. The method includes capturing user performance data for the exercise during execution of the workout plan by the user in an exercise environment. The user performance data includes an actual weight used in performance of the exercise and an actual number of exercise repetitions by the user. The method includes determining a new value for the prescribed weight based on a stored value of the prescribed weight in the user profile, the prescribed number of exercise repetitions, and the user performance data. The stored value of the prescribed weight in the user profile is adjusted to the new value for the prescribed weight.

  • Publication number: 20240042264
Abstract: An adjustable dumbbell system may include a base, two or more weights, a handle assembly, an additional weight, and selection assembly. The two or more weights may be supported by the base and grouped into a first set of weights associated with one end of the dumbbell system and a second set of weights associated with an opposing end of the dumbbell system. The handle assembly may be selectively fixedly joined to the first and second set of weights. The additional weight may be disposed distally of the handle assembly. The selection assembly may be secured to the additional weight. The selection assembly may include a selection member that may be linearly moveable between a selected position where the additional weight is operatively secured to the handle assembly and an unselected position where the additional weight is disengaged from the handle assembly.

  • Patent number: 11857827
Abstract: A sensing base for an adjustable free weight may include a cradle, and a sensing assembly, which includes a plurality of sensors and mechanical components (e.g., pivoting levers), each associated with a respective plate well that accommodates a weight plate of the adjustable free weight such that each mechanical component actuates the state of a respective sensor upon placement or removal of the weight in a plate well. Sensor signals reflecting the states of the sensors are communicated, via a circuit, a processor to determine the weight selection of the adjustable free weight when removed from the base. The sensing assembly may be implemented using individual sensors of a variety of different types such as hall effect sensors, optical interrupt sensors, IR optical sensors, and the like. The base may be configured to automatically communicate the determined weight to an external computing device to facilitate activity tracking and/or fitness coaching.

  • Patent number: 11806572
Abstract: A foot support assembly for an exercise machine may be configured for sing-hand operation (e.g., cinching or releasing of the foot strap). The foot support assembly may include a footplate coupled to the frame of the exercise machine and configured to support the user's foot during exercise and a strap coupled to the footplate and configured to resist separation of the user's foot from the footplate. The strap is operatively associated with a quick release ratchet mechanism, which is configured to be unlocked simply by pressing a lever of the ratchet to allow the ratchet strip to reverse, releasing the user's foot from the strap. The foot support assembly may be provided on each side of the seat rail of a rowing machine, which may alternatively or additionally include a multi-grip handle including a plurality of grip portions configured to position the user's hand at different orientations to one another.

  • Publication number: 20230065979
Abstract: An exercise machine has a lock mode and an unlock mode associated with a screen lock function. A computing device coupled to the exercise machine includes a display, memory, and a processor coupled to the memory. The computing device is configured to detect a user interaction with the computing device or the exercise machine while the exercise machine is in the lock mode, render a screen lock interface on the display in response to the user interaction, receive an input code from the screen lock interface, determine that the input code matches a goal code, and adjust the exercise machine from the lock mode to the unlock mode in response to determining that the input code matches the goal code.

  • Publication number: 20230069545
Abstract: A system includes an exercise machine and a computing device coupled to the exercise machine. The computing device presents a metrics bar within a graphical user interface in an initial state, detects a start of a first workout experience by a user on the exercise machine, retrieve a first set of metrics from stored user preferences data based on a workout experience type, workout type, and exercise machine type of the first workout experience, and displays the first set of metrics in a display area of the metrics bar during the first workout experience. The computing device detects a start of a second workout experience, determines a second set of metrics from the stored user preferences data based on a workout experience type, workout type, and exercise machine type of the second workout experience, and displays the second set of metrics in the metrics bar during the second workout experience.

  • Patent number: 11491361
Abstract: An adjustable weight kettlebell includes a body defining an internal cavity configured to receive one or more of a plurality of weights, and a weight selector assembly configured to selectively couple one or more of the plurality of weights to the body. The weight selector assembly may include an actuator to enable a user to select one of a plurality of available weight settings. The weight selector assembly may be locked for adjustment when the kettlebell is removed from a support surface such as a base, thereby inhibiting inadvertent detachment of the weights from the kettlebell during exercise. The weight selector assembly may automatically shift to the closest weight settings upon release of the actuator and may automatically unlock upon placement of the kettlebell on the support surface such as the base, the bottom weight if not coupled to the kettlebell, or any other suitable support surface.

  • Publication number: 20220219040
Abstract: A stationary bike capable of leaning of tilting side to side during use is described. The stationary bike has a fixed frame portion and moving frame portion which is pivotally mounted on the fixed frame portion, at two spaced apart pivot locations, to allow the moving frame to pivot about a pivot axis defined by the two spaced apart pivot locations. The pivotal action of the bike may be resisted, such as by a damper. The tilt-enabled bike is equipped with a tilt disabling mechanism, e.g., a locking mechanism configured to selectively and operatively engage the moving and the fixed frame to disable the relative movement (i.e. the pivoting) of the moving frame.

  • Patent number: 11358028
Abstract: A user-specific workout can be generated by adjusting transform parameters of a user-agnostic training profile to conform to a user boundary specifying a user's ability to perform work. The user-agnostic training profile can be defined in a training space, specifying a power curve in a time domain whereas the user boundary can be defined in a boundary space, specifying amounts of user-produced work in a time window size domain. A training boundary can be generated based on the user-agnostic training profile by determining the largest area under the user-agnostic training profile power curve for various time window sizes, where each largest area under the user-agnostic training profile power curve produces a data point for the training boundary for that window size domain value. The training boundary can be transformed based on the user boundary, causing corresponding transformations to the user-agnostics training profile, converting it to a user-specific workout.
