Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for positioning an object with adaptive resolution. The method comprises: dividing a space to be detected into Hot Area and General Area; arranging, according to the positions of Hot Area and General Area, high-resolution positioning signal (US) transceivers and low-resolution positioning signal (RF) transceivers, wherein the detection scope of the low-resolution positioning signal transceivers covers the space and the detection scope of the high-resolution positioning signal transceivers covers the Hot Area; and when the object moving in the space, fusing the detection results from the high-resolution positioning signal transceivers and the low-resolution positioning signal transceivers to determine the position of the object with adaptive resolution. With the system of the present invention, for different areas, the object can be positioned with different positioning resolutions (precisions or granularities).

Abstract: The present invention provides methods and systems for building object hierarchy. The method includes: obtaining a set of web pages from a website; conducting an inter-page analysis on the obtained web pages to extract a hierarchy of the web pages; conducting an intra-page analysis on each of the obtained web pages to identify the semantic blocks within the web page and extract a hierarchy of the semantic blocks for all the web pages; and fusing the hierarchy of the semantic blocks with the hierarchy of the web pages to generate a coordinated hierarchy. In one embodiment, the nodes on the generated coordinated hierarchy are then mapped into corresponding objects to generate the coordinated object hierarchy. Compared with the prior arts, the object hierarchy building systems and methods according to the present invention can build the object hierarchy in a more accurate and efficient way by fusing the inter-page analysis result and the intra-page analysis result.

The data owner generates an encrypted index according to each keyword of the files, and stores the encrypted index to the server. The index is composed of keyword item sets each being identified by a keyword item set locator and containing at least one or more file locators of the files associated with the corresponding keyword. Each file locator contains ciphertext of information for retrieval of an encrypted file and only with the correct file locator decryption key can the ciphertext be decrypted. Data owner issues a keyword item set locator as well as file locator decryption key to a searcher to enable the searcher to search on the encrypted index and retrieve files related to a certain keyword.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for adaptively recommending service, the apparatus comprises: a semantic analyzing device which analyzes the query from a user semantically; a service selecting device which selects a service which corresponds to the semantically-analyzed query, and updates a service association database according to the selected service; and a service recommending device which searches the service association database according to the selected service to recommend a related service to the user. The present invention also relates to a system and method for adaptively recommending service as well as an apparatus and method for recommending service based on user's favorite base. With the present invention, the data in the service association database can be acquired and adjusted automatically based on the user's service selection history base, thereby enabling provision of associated services for the user.

Abstract: The present invention provides a Positioning on One Device (POD) for locating and tracking objects and an autonomous ultrasound indoor track system (AUITS) and method for locating objects by using the POD. The AUITS can comprise: a tag device installed on a mobile object, which includes radio frequency (RF) and ultrasound transmitters for transmitting RF and ultrasound signals; and a POD for receiving the RF and ultrasound signals transmitted from the tag device to locate the mobile object. The POD can comprise: a plurality of leaf modules, each of the leaf modules including a positioning signal receiver for receiving the positioning signals (e.g. ultrasound signal) transmitted from the tag device, wherein there is a known structural topology relationship between the plurality of leaf modules. Then, the positioning signal detection times from respective positioning signal receivers and the structural topology relationship of the POD can be used for calculation of the position of the object.

Abstract: The present invention proposes a Provable Data Integrity (PDI) verifying method, in which data are firstly fingerprinted at a client, and the fingerprints are sent to an archive along with the data; when necessary, the client sends a “challenge” to the archive so as to determine the integrity of the data, and the archive proves the integrity of the data by using the received fingerprints; and finally, the client verifies the integrity of the data based on the output from the archive in response to the “challenge”.

Abstract: Method and System for calculating competitiveness metric between objects are provided. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining a first object and a second object; selecting, from all the relation instances stored in a relation instance repository, associated relation instances related to the first and second objects; and calculating, based on the selected associated relation instances, an extensional competitiveness metric Sout between the first and second objects as the competitiveness metric between the first and second objects. In an embodiment, the frequency that the associated relation instances related to the first and second objects appear in all the information source documents can be used for characterizing the extensional competitiveness metric. Furthermore, the present invention also provides an integrated competitiveness metric calculation method and system for combining the intensional and extensional competitiveness analysis results.

Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and a method for categorizing entities based on time-series relation graphs. In each of the time-series relation graphs within a prescribed time period, nodes represent entities, and links between the nodes represent entity relations in a corresponding time unit. The inventive apparatus for categorizing entities based on time-series relation graphs comprises: a time-series relation graph categorizing means for categorizing the nodes in each of the time-series relation graphs to generate a node category result for the corresponding time unit in time sequence; and a category result post-processing means for post-processing all the node category results for the corresponding time units in time sequence generated by the time-series relation graph categorizing means to generate finally categorized nodes.

Abstract: The present invention provides a relation mining apparatus and method for mining data for time-series relations and events among texts in various forms such as news, blogs, industrial reports and technical papers which may refer to various relations. According to the present invention, it is possible to automatically extract entity relation instances from a large amount of the texts as described above originating from the Internet or other mediums, mine for time-series entity relations, relation scores and entity importances in various categories based on the extracted instances, and finally extract important events therefrom. Also, according to the present invention, it is possible to perform calculating on the above extracted time-series relations for the corporation entities and business relations, so as to achieve an analysis on Five Forces. Further, it is also possible to present the result to final users by a visualizing module.

It is thus possible to improve the accuracy of natural language based service selection and provide the user with a selected service as well as the corresponding query answer.

Abstract: Method and system to utilize the set of navigation paths of web pages as the contextual information for subject relevant web page filtering with high accuracy are provided. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining all web pages in one or more web pages collections; collecting information of the links among the obtained web pages; extracting, based on the collected links, a set of navigation paths of each of the obtained web pages; and filtering the obtained web pages based on the extracted set of navigation paths to obtain desired web pages. In some embodiments, the extraction of the navigation paths is preferably performed on the navigation links of the web pages. Therefore, the method also comprises the process for deleting non-navigation links from all the links of the web pages.

Abstract: Method and System for calculating competitiveness metric between objects are provided. The method comprises the steps of: obtaining a first object and a second object, the first and second objects having a first profile and a second profile, each composed of a plurality of attributes, respectively; normalizing the first profile and the second profile with reference to ontology information; and calculating, based on the normalized first and second profiles, a competitiveness metric between the first and second objects. In one embodiment, the ontology information is a common attribute name vocabulary, and the step of normalizing is configured for adjusting the structures of the first and second profiles to a unified profile structure, computing the sub-metrics between the corresponding attributes in the unified profile, and computing the weighed sum of the sub-metrics as the final competitiveness metric of the first and second objects.

The method for web documents clustering comprises the steps of: inputting a plurality of web documents; collecting information of the links and the directory structure of the inputted web documents; extracting, according to the collected links and directory structure, a hierarchical structure for the plurality of web documents; and generating and outputting, based on the extracted hierarchical structure, one or more clusters of the plurality of web documents. In some embodiments, the hierarchical relations of the generated clusters can also be outputted at the same time. Compared with the prior art, the method and system for web documents clustering according to the present invention can improve substantially the accuracy and efficiency of the web documents clustering.

The user may generate large amount of derived pseudonym from the root pseudonym. The user may obtain resource credentials from resource protectors by using derived pseudonyms. The user may select a set of resource credentials, generate a flexible credential from this set of resource credentials and request access to the resource corresponding to the set of resource credentials to a resource protector by using the flexible credential and a derived pseudonym. Revocation list for each resource may be maintained in the system such that any one of resource credentials of any user may be revoked without affecting other resource credentials of that user.
